Very cosy, very clean pub with great service, beautiful pint of Guinness and the loveliest local residents. We’re so lucky to experience the live music performance with some amazing extras ❤️🤗 My heart is still there ❤️

Well well well what can I say about this pub as we travelled up from Tipperary last Saturday checked into the talbot hotel , went out for air and walked just around the corner to hear the bar man singing n wow , myself n my sister n our husbands went over to spend the rest of out night there n by god we wer made so welcome by the owner n the barman , the Irish songs wer in full swing and wat a night, I never caught yer names but thank u both , wont b back to the talbot hotel but by god can’t wait to go back to john Barry’s pub

A brilliant night of traditional music by excellent musicians and singers. Even the barman sang a solo that brought the pub to a standstill while he was still pouring pints.

I went here on a Thursday evening with a group of about 8 from work. The pub is small and very very busy. There was a ballad session on, the atmosphere was brilliant and the Guinness was even better. We thoroughly enjoyed the night.

30/01/2026: The only thing I liked about this place is the food. It was delicious. I read majority reviews of this restaurant about the exceptional customer service and friendly staff, but unfortunately didnot experience that. As soon as we walked into the restaurant, one of the staff members was like what can I do for you. Thats a very unusual greeting I heard when you enter a restaurant. After we were seated, both the male staff were talking loudly amongst themselves and staring continously at us, which made the experience very uncomfortable. The music was a bit loud as well. Found the tone of the staff to be very casual and disinterested. Was also surprised to see the restaurant empty apart from two other tables on a Thursday evening. Overall an allright experience.
