We had a wonderful meal at this Irish restaurant, which offers a varied menu at affordable prices. The staff were friendly and accommodating, and you can even request a typical dish to be served that same evening at lunchtime!
The desserts are very good, especially the trifle and the toffy sticky pudding. A great place to eat in Killarney!

Dinner at the Laurels was very enjoyable. There were seven of us, including three children, and although the place was already busy, we managed to reserve a table about an hour beforehand, which felt quite lucky. We were given a lovely big table, the staff were genuinely warm and friendly, and from the start the whole evening felt easy. They chatted to us, asked where we were from, and happily recommended dishes, which always makes a place feel that bit more welcoming.
The food was excellent. We all ordered different things, and it was one of those rare family meals where every plate that arrived looked like a good decision. The lamb shank was especially memorable, honestly one of the best we’ve had, rich, tender and exactly the sort of thing you want after a long day out. We also tried their creamy potato pancake speciality, which seemed to be their take on the famous Irish boxty, and it was absolutely lovely. Comforting, full of flavour, and very good with a pint of Guinness.
The children had burgers and fish and chips and were more than happy, which is always a useful sign. An added bonus was that our football-mad kids could keep an eye on the match on a screen, which made them even happier and helped the whole evening run very smoothly. Dessert was interesting too. We tried the brown bread ice cream, which I had never had before. To me it tasted a bit like walnut and coffee somehow found their way into the same spoonful. It was a little sweeter than I’d usually go for, but I still loved trying something new.
What also makes The Laurels work so well is the space. It is a big pub, so even when it is busy, it does not feel cramped or chaotic. There is still room to breathe, which makes a big difference when you are eating as a family.
A really lovely evening, with great food, kind staff and an atmosphere that felt lively without being overwhelming. I would happily recommend it to anyone eating in Killarney, especially families.

The waiters and waitresses were so friendly, despite the language barrier! We were a group of 15, and hats off to them! Thank you to the whole team at this restaurant! Well done!

We visited The Laurels Pub & Restaurant at the recommendation of our property, The Old Weir Lodge, and we couldn't have gotten better advice!
The venue is beautiful, quaint, and meticulously maintained, but above all, extremely clean. From the moment we arrived, we were struck by the kindness of the staff: everyone was welcoming, smiling, and ready to recommend the best options on the menu.
As for the food, the dishes were simply fabulous. We tried the lamb (so tender!) and the fried brie, and both were rich in flavor and cooked to perfection. It's the perfect place if you're looking for authentic Irish cuisine in a lively yet welcoming atmosphere.
Highly recommended if you're in the area! A special thanks to all the staff for a wonderful evening.
