Had an absolutely gorgeous meal here. It was very last minute as we were staying round the corner and needed somewhere to eat, quite late, but what a little gem this place is. We were greeted and served by Phil, he was warm, welcoming, friendly and really attentive. The short rib beef was incredible! Definitely worth a visit!

Terrific little place. Food was absolutely spot on. Presentation, flavour, utterly flawless. Service was great, friendly and professional without being pretentious or overly fussy. It's quite a small place with a couple of bigger groups dining when we arrived. This added to the ambience but didn't detract from us having a cosy intimate meal. Great selection from the menu, wine list is simple and Considered. Highly recommend dining here if you're staying locally.

Had a great dinner, Hake was out of this world, lamb rump was perfectly cooked with some crispy fat. Wine was reasonably priced. The Pinot Gris was the right choice and easy drinking.
Music was a throwback to the past.

Friendly welcome and popular spot. Food is Old fashioned, home style, with little flair or originality. Rustic/clumsy plating. Small tables and tightly packed. Poor value for money considering the delivery. €3 supplement for a single, small scallop served with pork belly.

Food is very creative regarding taste and presentation. Not a profit chasing place. It's a friendly, warm atmosphere with experienced staff in kitchen and on the floor.

⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ | A Masterclass in Modern Irish Dining
If you’re looking for a dining experience that feels like a warm hug but tastes like a Michelin-standard kitchen, The Little Kitchen is the place to be. Tucked away at 129 LEESON STREET UPPER, it’s a masterclass in how to do intimate dining right.
The Food: Simply Exquisite
The menu is a beautiful celebration of seasonal, local ingredients. Every dish feels intentional—nothing is on the plate just for show.
Precision Cooking: Whether it’s the perfectly seared scallops or a succulent cut of Irish beef, the textures and temperatures are consistently spot on.
Flavor Profiles: They have a gift for balancing rich, comforting flavors with bright, modern acidity. It’s sophisticated without being pretentious.
The Service: Truly Outstanding
What really sets this place apart, however, is the impeccable service.
The Atmosphere: From the moment you walk in, the staff makes you feel like a regular. They are attentive without being intrusive, strike the perfect balance of professional and friendly, and possess a deep knowledge of both the menu and the wine list.
The Pace: You never feel rushed, yet your glass is never empty. It’s that rare kind of hospitality where they seem to anticipate your needs before you even realize you have them.
The Verdict
It’s intimate, it’s elegant, and the quality of the food is matched only by the genuine warmth of the team. Whether it’s a romantic date night or a long, lazy lunch, The Little Kitchen is a D4 staple for a reason.
Highly recommended. 👌

Amazing food. A very attentive service. Great recommendations. The lamb was divine. The prawn risotto was delicious. The goat cheese salad … nothing was wrong. Will be coming back for sure!

Exceptional food, gourmet presentation & portions, jovial atmosphere, but pedestrian service.
This seems like the type of restaurant that has a world class Chef who started something on their own vs working for a Michelin rated franchise, but lacks the funding to scale the experience to match the food.
I did notice larger parties getting more service attention, but felt a bit ignored as a single diner.
Maybe my service experience was different because it was clear that I wasn't a local (I'm a New Yorker) and this seemed like a familiar establishment supported by locals.
Additionally, as a single or two party table, you will be placed by the door which gets annoying in the winter/cold weather seasons.
The venue is a hole in the all, so arrive 10 minutes late to your reservation or there will be nowhere to wait, which is inconvenient, again when the weather is cold.
I arrived 15 minutes early and had to walk to a local bar around the corner to kill time.
Great food, mediocre experience!
