The Mad Monk by Quinlans in Killarney

Great choice of seafood dishes and a daily specials boards, lots of flavour! I prefer a smoother creamier chowder but that’s just personal preference. Superb staff!

We found this place when searching for fish and chips and ended up being drawn to ordering the Seabass with seafood Risotto and the Chowder with soda bread. Each was hearty, rich with flavor, and piping hot. Where we sat we could see the food come from the counter and each meal looked extravagantly plated, boiling hot, and great serving sizes. We didn’t try the desserts but they looked BEAUTIFUL and wonderful value for price. Would come again. ✨ Also, great smelling hand lotion in the bathroom.

Mediocre food, was served stale bread and seafood although locally caught was average. Service was very friendly and they were very accommodating with our 5 month old as well. Unusual choice of music for a restaurant with the likes of ABBA playing, amongst other pop classics, would not be my personal choice for restaurant ambience but may float some other people’s boats.

The food was excellent, and also, the waiters' friendly manner makes you feel like you are in your own house.

This was some of the best seafood I have had in Ireland. Everything about the Mad Monk was class. The flavours were perfect and everything was so fresh. I would highly recommend this restaurant if you are looking for a delicious feed.

Baileys cheesecake was great. Dinner was good.

One of the best meals we've had in Ireland! The prawn tagliatelle and the seafood risotto were amazing! The restaraunt has a good ambience and the service was on point! Must visit when in Killarney!
