The Metropole Hotel Cork in Cork

For the price the hotel was good but it an old hotel.

The room I was assigned was quite compact and had no proper window—the one there was completely covered, so you couldn’t see outside. The shower experience was frustrating; it took me about 20 minutes to get the right temperature. On the positive side, the hotel staff was helpful and arranged next-door parking for an early morning departure. The hotel itself is quite old, but the convenient location makes it a good choice for short stays.

I stayed at this hotel for one night recently. I have mixed feelings about the hotel. I don't think I will again be in Cork anytime soon, but I will try some other hotel. Positives + Courteous and friendly staff + Nice view of the river Lee if you are in the correct rooms + Good location Negatives - Fixtures and furniture are old - The hotel itself is old, but they tried to modernize it, but halfheartedly - Small TV (but good number of channels) - Shower/tub plumbing and operation is probably intuitive for people in 1950 - They should change the source of the instant coffee

Fab hotel as so central. We had a function and an amazing night

The staff were amazing, welcoming and helpful. Other than a soup that had more salt than veg in it, the rest of the food was lovely. The rooms on the other hand are outdated. Wallpaper peeling off the walls, dirty curtains and sink taps that you have to keep turning for the water to finally come out. I would stay in this hotel again but in a different room. Location is very handy. Parking 1min walk. Public transport directly across the bridge.

Lovely hotel in a central location.

After our recent stay in can only say how wonderful an experience it was, the room was excellent, the staff were lovely, friendly and exceptionally helpful. The good was 10/10. Would highly recommend staying at this venue!

Great craic. Very good location. Very good walls. Only complaint is how they painted over the tile in the bathroom. Did not look very professional and probably contributed to the shampoo bottle coming off the wall. Also, no conditioner, just a shampoo-conditioner combo that does not condition at all.
