Friendly staff, handy location for Cork city centre, quality breakkfast

A great historic hotel in cork city, not too far from the action and only minutes from Kent train station.

We had a lovely time in the hotel. The bar was very lively and busy. Rooms very nice and comfortable. But the breakfast was first class. Presentation etc perfect. The lady who served us was fab. So friendly and helpful. She could not do enough for us. We'll done.

We are definitely staying here if we ever visit Cork again. The room is very clean and it’s close to everything so you can get everywhere on foot!

The staff couldn’t do enough for my partner and I. They went above and beyond for us, making sure we were well looked after as we endured an awful dose of food poisoning. Really can’t thank them enough for their help. Would certainly recommend.

It is the staff for me! The smiles and friendliness are on another level. During the busy service, they did not forget me. Location is strategic, a stone throw to other shops that are open till 11pm, pubs and chippers are around for extras.

Rooms (wafer thin walls, poor sleep). Staff reception friendly however, some members of staff in other areas need more training on personal interpersonal skills. Highlight was food, really enjoyed it. Overall, I'm sad to say my stay in this hotel was disappointing

We stayed at Metropole Hotel for 2 days. A hotel with old charm. We enjoyed our time here and it was great. Service was good. The Breakfast was a lot to choose also between the Traditional Irish and Continental. Staff very friendly and helpful. The Bar was great and John a good barman to serve good drinks and cocktails. Update 03/21/24: The communication between Housekeeping and Reception needs to be improved wrt retention of lost property.

Really expensive for what it is. Parking is poor. Location is decent

Can't wait to go back and stay there again
