The Mocking Monck in Wexford

19/08/2026: Very busy spot during the summer season, with long queues and lots of people waiting for food. Years ago, I remember that this place was really popular and you could see and smell food everywhere, with people coming in to grab something to eat. We stopped here looking for fish and chips, as it seemed like the kind of place that should have them on the menu. We did find them, but the queue was so long that we decided to drive about 7 minutes further instead. To be fair, we were probably right to do so, as we didn’t want to spend so much time waiting. It may be a different experience outside the busy summer season, but during our visit it was extremely crowded. Hopefully we’ll come back another time when it’s a bit quieter and actually get the chance to try the food. 😊

07/08/2026: Right beside the beach, a lovely little coffee shop to get a coffee and a croissant after a morning swim. Excellent coffee, friendly service. Can imagine its gets busy later in the day as more people head to the beach. Seating area is shaded and feels a bit dark during the morning.
