Great service, great food, Steak Ciabatta and Steak skewers were cooked to order and were very nice. The staff and owner are very friendly and welcoming.
Popped in and asked if we could watch a rugby match. Alan was really lovely and went out of his way to get the match on for us. We were having great banter with the staff and decided to stay for dinner. We had starters and main courses - good portions of pub grub. John came out and introduced himself to us. We found Alan & John to be very friendly, hospitable and we had a very enjoyable visit. We called in for breakfast the next morning - it hit the spot nicely! We will be back!

The food order was taken and brought to the kitchen when I prepared the Starters, Chicken Wings and Garlic mushrooms these were served by our waitress, the mains were Sirloin Steak and Chicken and Mushroom Vol au Vent, with vegetables not chips. Again I prepared the mains with my other chef, we plated, presented it for service as Normal.
chicken and mushroom Vol au vents are a creamy sauce topping 2 pastry cases, veg and potato were served in a side dish so guest can put as much or as little on their plate. They were asked by the waitress and then by Alan if there meal was ok as normally and they said yes on both occasions. I later go to all tables in the restaurant to speak and check on food service and standards. When I approached Patsy Farrell she said she had enough and was full, I asked again was everything ok she replied it wasn't what I expected. I apologised and explained she should have told the 2 Staff if there was an issue. Nothing more was discussed until bill paying time. She then said she was not paying for any of her meal. Alan then came to me to discuss the matter and I came to the bar to discuss the issue. We had other customers listening to her comments saying we were unprofessional in charging her for the meal. I explained the meal was eaten and payment was due the Gardi were mentioned she said call them as she had connections there. It was embarrassing the way she shouted and called us unprofessional people threatening to d story our business as she was well connected in the area. I agreed to take her meal off and charged her for the rest. She paid by card and when given the receipt she threw it me behind the bar. Her husband had left at this stage possibly embarrassed at her carry on. As he left she shouted at us I will destroy your business.

For a woman of her AGE she should be ashamed of how he carried herself in front of the general public
I am a very professional person, Tring to re establish a business after been closed for years and do not need the attitude or insults from customers like this. she said the food was not good but her husband and her ate it all anyway. What a contradiction in statement.
