The Nook in Athenry

Made a great cappuccino and “The Cure” crepe was delicious. Loved the family and friends atmosphere. 🙏🙏

WHOLESOME! This place is the warmest most unique vibe I have ever had the pleasure to experience, it feels local, it is tiny but you hear different accents everytime you go in. This place is up there with the castle and heritage centre for best experience in Athenry. Warm friendly staff and patrons alike and the crepes are second to none and I used to work in Paris, I know a good crepe. Furthermore the ingredients are locally sourced and organic where possible, so if I had only one word to describe this gem I would say Wholesome

Wonderful crepes served in a unique way-folded into triangles. It’s a small place with just a few seats. It’s a one woman operation.

Dined here this morning . I had The whole Hog. Really beautiful, tasty and filling. Also had a slice of Tea Brack and a cuppa. Set up for the day.,

A lovely little secret in Athenry! Always so welcoming and the most friendliest atmosphere that you cannot get everywhere!

This cozy coffee shop feels like home. The Nook is your local central perk! Can’t get a better cup of coffee. Unreal daily made baked goods! Sweet and savory crepes, Get the veggie and add an egg! (Trust me) Julie, the owner is always full of chat with locals and others alike. This will always be my daily coffee stop. Give it a try and you’ll see why.

A cool day with light rain in Athenry. We came across The Nook and took shelter in the tiny space, ordered hot chocolates and sat on stools to watch our crepes being made. All the while, locals were dropping in for a quick snack or a takeaway and a chat. How the one busy lady cheerfully met all the requests was impressive. Our crispy crepes were delicious and the mugs of hot chocolate very satisfying and there were many other appealing items to choose from on the menu. Would love to have a local cafe like this close to home with its unique buzz - a combination of energy, producing delicious treats while maintaining a relaxed ambience. Seek it out when in Athenry. NOTE: With its dark green exterior, The Nook (Athenry) seems to have been confused on Trip Advisor with Treacy's in southern Ireland, which also a dark green exterior (e.g. see review "Excellent lunch!" Nov 2019). Lead-in photo might need to change.
