A very cool venue, the staff were all proper sound and the atmosphere was great. If you're a cider drinker, they sell Cronin's, so I'd recommend you ask for that.

The'Ol 55 is a real locals pub, no fancy decor or fake Irishness, with a lot of up and coming musicians playing regularly. Some really talented people at the beginning of what may be a very bright career. And to top it off, very friendly bar staff.

Great pub to have a pint. Even if you don't smoke, go to the smokers alley to admire the mural, featuring a unique take on Tom Waits.

Great place to go and hangout while in Galway. They’ve got a wide range of events going on from science talks, to open mic, to trad music. Everyone was super friendly as well. Next time I’m in Galway I’ll definitely be back!

03/04/2026: The food was amazing and the girl from Chile was super attentive and nice.
16/03/2026: Really nice food, but the server Amel was really rude and kind of aggressive. I ordered a small burrito but he gave me a medium one, when I said sorry I think I ordered a small, he aggressively replied that I did not, and wouldn’t accept anything I said, he was also just generally rude and intimidating . Disappointing service as I do like the place
