Food is good but really expensive

Delicious dinner in the old bank —flavours were spot on, the staff were so welcoming, and the ambiance made the evening feel special. Highly recommend

Beautiful surroundings, great food , friendly staff

Martin was very welcoming at front of house, and it’s always nice to see a familiar face. The setting is lovely, with a local art exhibition all over the various rooms, and we had a nice private corner. Service was attentive and friendly, but the food is overrated. My curry was unpleasantly spicy and could barely eat half of it, and my friend commented on his flavourless starter. The thing that bugged me most was on the bill at the end, two different VAT rates were added to our bill. I’ve never encountered this in any other restaurant in Ireland, so the advertised prices outside are not what you’ll actually pay (usually VAT is built into the cost). The drinks were probably the nicest part of the meal, which we had served in one of the lovely cubby holes in the bar area. I think it’s unwise having a curry on a menu when there is an Indian restaurant down the road who will never be outdone.

We recently had dinner in the old bank the food was delicious Service was great and the atmosphere was lovely while Barry in the Bar was so friendly and helpful and Martin the manager was so attentive to every body will definitely be back.

Quiet on a Bank holiday Saturday lunchtime. Could be something to do with the cost of dishes!! Nice food but costly and served in very small portions.

Lovely food, a great atmosphere. Here for a family gathering so we were given a private room with a lovely set up, the staff were great, so friendly and attentive. Have been here a couple of times and it's noticeable how nice the staff are. Will certainly go back.

Would highly recommend. We were in Dungarvan for the weekend with our 2 small children. We wandered into the Old Bank and were delighted we did. The children’s menu had the usual options but when the food arrived we were delighted. The quality of food was a notch and above the normal stuff served to children. It was delicious real fish goujons with thick cut chips. No frozen fish fingers here! The portions were great size as well (our children are small so didn’t finish but plenty to feed older children). It wasn’t just the kids menu that was good, our own food was delicious as well. Great place for a family meal.

We had an amazing experience. The interior ambiance is so warm and welcoming and the meal complemented this perfectly.
