I recently dined at Le Mara restaurant and am excited to share my experience. The cuisine is simply succulent, each dish prepared with care and quality ingredients. Additionally, the service was impeccable thanks to our waitress, who was both attentive and very friendly. She was able to advise us on the menu and make our meal even more enjoyable. I highly recommend Le Mara to anyone looking for a great dining experience!

Great food journey in the heart of Waterford.
Food was amazing, and each step on the way faultless. Thank you Luis Martin for a memorable evening. Highly recommended.

A class above all the other restaurants we tried this last week, by far the most creative and original and deserving of success. Around 130E for two with a glass of wine each, better value than many.

Amazing experience. I had the vegetarian tasting menu and food was innovative and interesting... the date puree was exceptional and the baked Alaska lollipop sublime. Friendly waitress really added to the experience and the decor and ambiance was elegant yet welcoming.

Wow.!! We landed up in Mara last night.. last minute find & no idea of where we were going! We discovered that the head chef/owner Luis is away for a while... but out front leading the way in style was the pastry chef Natalie .... she was a wonder and made a super relaxed front of house. We don’t know who was behind the kitchen door… but they did Luis proud. The food was divine!
We had the tasting menu. From stunning canapes – We could eat a plate of the crispy cheese & jalapeno tarts, to the simply perfect potato omelette (not like the one you make at home!!). The super fun & tasty baked Alaska ice cream and the beautiful petit fours – pillowy light raspberry marshmallow & a lemon curd melt in the mouth sphere wrapped in crunchie orange crumble. The other courses were equally amazing, but you need to go to discover Mara for yourself!! We even looked at train times to Dublin to see if we could make a day trip out of it…. But it won’t work for now…. But we WILL back & can’t wait!!

Great experience at Mara - we went for the 10-course tasting menu to celebrate a special occasion and can't speak highly enough of the food, venue and especially the service...the waitress was incredibly attentive and obliging considering she was largely on the floor by herself, playing a blinder on introducing all the dishes with enthusiasm and very knowledgeable when follow up questions asked.
Food was fantastic, all dishes tasted amazing with genuinely great value for money as some would be considered mains-sized portions in other venues! Something that can't be said for some other tasting menus I've had at times but you really will be full afterwards, we were rolling home afterwards 😄
Venue is very nice as well, like other reviews, have to acknowledge the small but cosy space created by the team - can't help but think they could fit a few more seats/tables in if they wanted but not complaining as it feels spacious but still welcoming for patrons presently. 5 star experience and we will be back 👍

Superb. Had to leave a review after going this evening. Not one for regularly leaving reviews but felt necessary after the food tonight. Incredible.
Heart and soul go into this restaurant it’s clear to see. Eaten at Michelin star restaurants across Europe but this is better than many.
Will come back to Waterford just to go here! Thank you.

This restaurant which will be changing it’s name to Mara soon was taken over a year ago by Spanish chef Luis Martin. He was previously head chef at Waterford Castle, Mount Juliet and Fota Island hotel. So from his cv he can straight away see his pedigree. This restaurant is a different experience with an 11 course tasting menu with a mixture of savoury and sweet. There’s an emphasis on seafood but the main course of lamb was an amazing meat dish. Wine pairing was spot on and is highly recommended. Without doubt the best culinary experience that I’ve had in my life, anywhere in the world. I’ve had the privilege of eating in fantastic restaurants all over Ireland, Europe and USA. This trumps the lot. He deserves MIichelin stars which hopefully will follow. Looking forward to my next visit. Don’t miss this experience if you have a chance.
