The Pantry in Kilkenny

The place was nicely decorated inside and clean looking. Service was nice. There was a guy behind the counter I think he might have been a manger or owner and he was lovely and kind of had a good vibe with other staff, which I appreciate. The food was very mediocre. I got an iced coffee which was ok. Kids got hot chocolates, which were average and a bit watery. The biggest let down was the wafer. In a place like that I would expect a freshly made wafer (esp.for €9), this was a hard store bought wafer heated in a microwave, no doubt. And even at that I don't think it was a good quality store-bought one. They sell the exact same ones in Lidl. We also got a cookie which was fine, but no fireworks. Paid €27 for a coffee, two hot chocs, cookie and wafer. Not a robbery and if the quality was good I would have thought it was an ok value. But it all tasted cheap and like if no effort was put in it. Overally, would not return.

We had a bit of lunch there today , the food was so fresh and tasty, would highly recommend . We had BLT & Pancakes , they were divine.

I went for lunch with some friends today none of us had eaten there before, my friends are not from Kilkenny, I will only comment my own experience of the place here . I ordered soup and a toasted cheese and ham sandwich I also ordered water which never came despite asking twice ...my toasted cheese and ham sandwich arrived looking completely White no toasting seemed to have taken place or if it had it wasn't done properly. Bread was warm but still pale although the sandwich tasted perfectly nice, it wasn't a toasted sandwich ..The soup just tasted of turnips I couldn't find any other vegetable taste in it ! The knives and forks and spoons all we're very dirty with strange stains on them, my friend's husband went and found me some cleaner cutlery... when my water eventually arrived after we had eaten , the glass was absolutely filthy with mouth marks all around the edges I found that very off putting all together..I'm being generous by giving it three stars and only because the sandwich actually tasted nice even though it wasn't properly toasted!! all in all a very lackluster experience if I ever do go back I really hope it's a better experience and I always give a place a second chance

It was great loved the food but it was noisy.

Amazing service, my friends card declined and the man working offered for it to be on the house for her but we then we got it. Every single time i’ve been to the pantry the food has been amazing and service even better. Would highly recommend!

Honestly the nicest full breakfast I’ve had. Everything was perfect 🤩

Great Food, Super Friendly staff and nice tea. Popped in during a trip down from Dublin and a reason to return to Kilkenny in itself!

Good value mini breakfast. Service is good. Staff friendly and helpful.
