This place is genuinely something special. I've photographed quite a few weddings at the Red Door, and every time I'm blown away. Francis and the whole team are just brilliant, they really go above and beyond, and it shows in every little detail. The setting itself is a dream: tucked-away woodland paths, thee iconic swing, and views overlooking Lough Swilly that make for absolutely stunning backdrops. It’s one of those places where you’re spoiled for choice with photo opportunities. And the food? Next level. They really know how to host a wedding here, elegance at best! Till next time..
I recently visited The Red Door for Sunday Lunch with family and had an excellent experience. The staff were brilliant, so welcoming, friendly and attentive and the venue itself is lovely and cosy and has a very warm atmosphere. The location is beautiful. Everyone at the table enjoyed their meal, although we did find the pricing for Sunday Lunch slightly expensive at €32.50 for a 2 course or €37.50 for a 3 course. Overall a lovely experience and will hopefully be back in future.
26/06/2025: You have to brilliant food and service
19/06/2025: Wow! I was not expecting such amazing food to come out of a hidden tavern like this. Had a drink at the bar then sat for dinner. I got the ribeye with buttery mash and oh my goodness it was divine. It was also grand seeing the old train as the steak grill- as well as the other nods towards it being an old train station! We went with a large group and they were extremely accommodating.
