We always have a great time at the Red Door.
The food is always delicious and it is a lovely place to celebrate a special occassion as the grounds are beautiful, as is the interior. Food is always good.
This time we just dropped in foe bar food. It was delicious. There was a good choice on the bar food menu and it was reasonably priced for the quality of the meal we had.
A beautiful building with a stylish interior and a garden where you can also sit outside. We were in the bar area, where food is also served. The staff were friendly, but there’s room for improvement (taking glasses from the table with fingers inside is unprofessional, and after the meal, they didn’t ask if everything was okay).
The starters (pork belly and ham croquettes) were very good, but the main course disappointed us. The fish tacos were very dry – just adding some juicy vegetables would have made a big difference. It’s not a bad place, but both the service and the food could use some improvement.
This place is genuinely something special. I've photographed quite a few weddings at the Red Door, and every time I'm blown away. Francis and the whole team are just brilliant, they really go above and beyond, and it shows in every little detail. The setting itself is a dream: tucked-away woodland paths, thee iconic swing, and views overlooking Lough Swilly that make for absolutely stunning backdrops. It’s one of those places where you’re spoiled for choice with photo opportunities. And the food? Next level. They really know how to host a wedding here, elegance at best! Till next time..
Hadn't booked but was passing by last Sunday and dropped in for bar food.
The menu was delightful - lots of choices - coeliac friendly.
I had the fish & chips - was so tasty!
Husband said the steak was one of the best he's had!
Will look forward to returning soon.
Ate in the restaurant last Saturday. Hadn't been since last Summer. Ate from the A la Carte Menu - great choices, fabulous food & presented beautifully.
Service was great.
Won't leave it as long until we return.
