The Red Door Country House in Fahan

Lovely meal in beautiful surroundings. Staff were very attentive and friendly.

Had a really nice meal this evening with family. Service excellent. The food quality and presentation was wonderful. Quantities perfect. Lovely ambience.

I attended a wedding here in October 2024 and it was so amazing I had to write a review. The location is stunning, the grounds are immaculate, the house feels very welcoming and warm with beautiful decor. On top of that, this was hands down the best food I’ve had at a wedding, really fine dining quality. What makes or breaks a place is the staff though and not only were they super efficient and professional, they were all exceptionally nice to deal with. I’d go back in a heartbeat.

Attended a wedding there. First, pre wedding was well organised for bride and her retinue. Guests received well by staff. The civil ceremony was excellent. The interval thereafter was entirely applicable to our group and was well served by a gospel choir. The well known Donegal musicians, the Henry Girls, were, as usual superb at the ceremony. Organisation for the wedding meal and seating was fine. The food was excellent. Good choices were available. The later entertainment for dancing was also very good. Lots of parking available and the hotel was situated in a very scenic spot overlooking the Lough.

We visited for an evening meal. As always, plenty of lovely starters, perfect steak followed up by a perfect pistachio cheesecake . The restaurant staff were wonderful and very professional so were the front desk staff. Thank you everyone.

This restaurant is superb.Our daughter had her wedding reception here last week and we had a fabulous experience.I would unreservedly recommend this venue to others for their wedding reception.Special thanks to Frances who ensured from the first point of contact that all would run smoothly.She is exceptional in her role as wedding coordinator.

From the minute we arrived until we left it was 5* all the way. The sun came out this evening so that was a fab start, arrived to the restaurant to be greeted by the always smiling Frances. She has the best memory as she remembers the names time n time again. The place was super busy but this didn't take away from the super service from all of the staff. The Red Door has THE best staff they are approachable, helpful and always smiling nothing is too much trouble. We could only manage starter n mains we were so full pudding was a NO.NO. Price wise for what you get is brilliant we have found since COVID many places are basically taking the mick become greedy and started charging stupid prices. This place thank God hasn't. Always like to visit the Red Door when in Buncrana area. The location is stunning. This weekend a few of us went to dinner in the lovely dining room and had starters like soup, salads, prawns. Our mains were steak, chicken and fish. All very tasty. The service was good. Looking forward to visiting again over the summer and maybe dining outside (weather permitting!)
