⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ I Transcended Through Round O’s Front Door and Came Out a Sugary, Solar-Powered Weapon of Love I don’t even remember walking into the Round O' Karate Dojo that first time. I think I melted through the doors, like hot jam. Something about the faint hum of solar panels on the roof and the musk of ambition in the air activated my fight-or-flight—or-flirt—response. The dojo isn’t just clean—it’s viscerally immaculate. Like, womb-clean. There’s a weird, sacred stickiness to the mats that reminds you other people have bled and wept here, probably after failing to do a roundhouse kick while simultaneously choking on a Haribo jelly cola bottle, like I did. That’s fine. That’s part of the process. You grow. You shed skin. You become. Sensei—whose eyes glint like a polished nunchuck—walked past me during warmups and I swear to Bruce Lee I immediately questioned my orientation, my gender, and my tax bracket. Mid-kata, I caught myself moaning “oss” and thinking about him feeding me jelly rings in slow motion. I now bring a second gi because the first one ends up suspiciously damp before class even starts. And the rivalry with Chekhov’s Karate down the road? Oh my GOD. It’s not just beef. It’s wagyu. It’s Shakespearean. Their dojo is all brooding minimalism and slow-burn vengeance—like if a sauna and a Russian novel had a dojo-baby. But Round O' fights with the ferocity of a raccoon hopped up on electrolytes and passionfruit Haribo. I attended one of their inter-dojo sparring events and witnessed a 12-year-old from Round O’ do a spinning back kick that knocked a Chekhov kid’s retainer clean into the fourth dimension. The tension? Palpable. The sweat? Artisanal. Also, can we talk about the solar panels? They just sit there, on the roof, absorbing the righteous energy of every kiai screamed inside. They power the dojo and my awakening. Round O' didn’t just teach me karate. It taught me how to feel. How to sweat with dignity. How to taste blood and Haribo tangfastics in the same mouthful and know I’ve lived. Thank you. I love you. I am legally married to the dojo now. 🥋⚡🍬🌞🌈

Busy place and there’s always a good buzz there

2 hours it took to serve 2 courses. The kids were tired & fed up. The soft drinks were flat & warm & honestly the portion sizes were meagre. On the plus side, it was comfortable. They could do with more staff. We came out feeling very hard done by.
