The Schoolhouse Bar in Dublin

Brilliant location, great comfortable room, great breakfast

Comfy beds, warm boutique rooms, in an old historical building steeped in irish stories. Friendly staff and a fire next to your dinner, pints or breakfast. Breakfast seemed steamed rather than fried, but still tasty. Great location for gigs, touristy things around Dublin, or a quiet hideaway in city centre. Will stay here again.

Our first stay at the Schoolhouse, but definitely not our last!! It was a fantastic stay. From the moment we walked through the doors, we were greeted by friendly staff, who were welcoming, kind and warm. Check in was simple, as was check out and loved the room key we were given, so much more character than a plastic card! Our room was modern but also in keeping with the beautiful style of this historic building. The food was delicious, in such gorgeous surroundings. The bar was spacious, again I want to emphasise the wonderful staff. The hotel is in a great spot, with very easy access to lots of different amenities. I would highly recommend the Schoolhouse to anyone for a stay, and will absolutely return in the future- if I could give it more than 5 stars I would!

A perfect location for our trip to a Show in the Bord Gais Theatre. The Accommodation is outstanding, beautifully furnished in keeping with the building. The Staff were so friendly and helpful. We will definitely be back and have already recommended the Schoolhouse to family and friends.

Great stay in the Schoolhouse. Excellent location, friendly and helpful staff. Great food and atmosphere. Rooms modern and comfortable. V quiet yet close to everything. Highly recommended.

The food here is consistently good, but service was very slow. Our drinks were empty a few times during service and we had to wait a long time for the waitress to appear again. We ordered dessert and drinks that didn't arrive and we left. I still give it 4 stars because the food is good and the atmosphere is really cozy. Please improve on your service and I'd be happy to recommend the Schoolhouse

we have stayed here many times ; always enjoying the service /rooms & staff. This December 2025 ,we stayed again , Having a late night drink ; last orders called , on getting our drinks ,we were, Told the Bar Lounge was closing and too take our drinks to our bedroom!!!!!!! NO TIME TO RELAX ,DRINK UP AND LEAVE . Poor service for anyone staying over night.

I had a great time at the restaurant. João at the bar did an amazing job, the drinks were excellent. Germano was also very friendly and attentive, which made the whole experience even better. The food was great, and I’d definitely come back.

I hope to come back soon. The food was also outstanding. Our night was excellent, from Lucas, who took great care of us, to Joao’s service at the bar, who made the best whiskey sour I’ve ever had. I visited the restaurant and it was amazing, I highly recommend it.

Reid atmosphere and they have open fire at both ends. There is typical bar seating as well as more comfortable bench and chair seating around tables and a fireplace. We had the burger which was served a little less than medium, which was fine for me, but I'm surprised to find a place in Ireland that serves anything but well done. And the dirty fries were outstanding. The Guinness was also very good.
