The Schoolhouse Bar in Dublin

Great food. We ate here last year before the rugby. This year we were prepared and booked a table before we went to Aviva stadium for the rugby. Wagyu burger was mouthwatering. Great service, excellent place. We might stay next year?

Very comfortable to walk in after a very long walk in the canal with my family. Lucas, Erik & Joao and Germano were very gentle and telling us very interesting stories about SchoolHouse. I will come back as a very lovely costumer and experiene a great time in this place, they deserve the attention of uniqueness spot. Dark, interesting and beautiful as it is already. Germano was the best host as mentioning he was giving his best for SchoolHouse afters almost 4 years. The General Manger Andrei is conscious about all this and meeting him during the day was very lovely.

We stayed at The Schoolhouse Hotel in Dublin for our last night in Ireland, and it was absolutely perfect from start to finish. Upon check-in, we were warmly greeted by Lorena, who was so welcoming and helpful. We had arrived early, and to our delight, our room was already ready — such a lovely surprise! The hotel had a homey, comfortable feel, with a nicely appointed room and a very comfortable bed, making it the ideal place to unwind before our early flight the next morning. We also dined at the Schoolhouse Bistro, which was wonderfully convenient and truly exceptional. The space was dark, cozy, and full of charm, and the food was outstanding — both the dry-aged steak and chicken fillet “en croute” were absolutely delicious. The cocktails were top notch, and the service was second to none. A special thank you to Iliana, Germano, Erick, and Lucag for making the evening so memorable with their warmth and professionalism. The entire experience was a perfect finale to our trip — highly recommend both the hotel and restaurant! 🇮🇪✨

Out for a business lunch with a colleague at the restaurant. The restaurant is quite welcoming and when we walked in at 12.30PM, the place was empty. It took another 15-20min for every table to be occupied. We ordered a Caesar Salad with Chicken, and a Pulled Chicken Sandwich. The food came quickly and the taste was quite good. The place is definitely worth a visit.

We had a lovely dinner tonight. The drinks and food were delicious, from the specialty cocktails to the fish and chips and butcher block special. We loved the house-made brown bread, too! Everyone was warm and welcoming, especially our server, Iliana, and Erick, Germano, and Lucas. The bartenders and front desk staff were helpful and gracious. Thank you!!

We flew to Dublin for the weekend to celebrate our son’s 14th birthday, and based on a recommendation we chose The Schoolhouse Hotel and Gastro Bar for his special dinner. The hotel itself is truly charming — both inside and out. In the evening it looked especially beautiful, softly lit from the outside with a picturesque canal right beside it, which created a cozy and memorable atmosphere even before we stepped in. The service throughout the evening was attentive and friendly, which made us feel very welcome. The food was good, though I expected a bit more. The seafood pasta was tasty and nicely prepared, while the steak was just average. A lovely touch was the birthday candle served with dessert, which made the celebration feel more personal and thoughtful. The tiramisu stood out with its beautiful presentation in a rounded glass, adding elegance to the end of the meal. Overall, The Schoolhouse is a wonderful spot for a special occasion thanks to its charming setting, warm service, and stylish atmosphere. While the food didn’t quite exceed expectations, the experience as a whole was memorable and enjoyable, and I would still recommend it for anyone looking for a cozy and picturesque place to celebrate in Dublin.

This neighborhood made me feel as if I were living in Dublin… a refreshing and authentic experience compared to the usual party-tourist vibe elsewhere. The building itself is stunning, with a unique and inviting concept that immediately draws you in. Service was excellent at every level. We stayed at the hotel, enjoyed the breakfast, and also dined at the restaurant, and each experience was consistently high-quality. I would definitely return. A special thanks to the reception team (the Argentinian gentleman doing night shift, Fabiola, and another Argentinian lady) as well as Iliana at the gastrobar, who welcomed us every evening with warmth, professionalism, and truly child-friendly care. Lukas is a great waiter - polite, friendly and knowledgeable

Esta fue nuestra primera visita a un restaurante después de llegar a Dublín y fue absolutamente encantador! El restaurante tiene amplios asientos en el exterior y no muy grande en el interior, pero es tan encantador e histórico. Las vigas de madera, la carpintería y la decoración eran tan lindos y para nosotros, los estadounidenses, es lo que imaginamos un restaurante irlandés para verse! La comida era increíble. Tuvimos sándwiches y la sopa de patata y puerro era increíble. Un lugareño se detuvo en nuestra mesa para saludar y darnos la bienvenida a Irlanda y nos dio un poco de historia en el edificio. El servicio era excelente y nos fuimos sintiéndonos satisfechos y muy bienvenidos en Irlanda. ¡Una manera absolutamente brillante de comenzar nuestra estancia de semana en este increíble país!
