The Sliding Rock in Galway

Great Pub, very nice food and very friendly service.

Located across the road from UHG, food is fab, defo a change from the hospital canteen!

The pub is located directly across from the hospital. I was surprised by the number of customers, but it's actually a good spot for a quick meal if your loved one is in the hospital and you need to eat ;) Since it wasn't a planned meal, we grabbed a quick burger and fries (served with coleslaw) and a salad with grilled haloumi cheese. Everything is fresh and made fresh. This place wouldn't exactly be my go-to for a chat with friends or a romantic dinner, but it would be perfect for a quick, unplanned meal, and yes, it is :) There are a few parking spaces in front of the building; the pub is located on the ground floor.

A good place to spend a night. The rooms were certainly small for at least 3 people, but it was very clean and the service was very nice. We had a concert in the bar downstairs and once we went to the room we didn't hear the music downstairs. For our part a recommendable place for a short visit to Galway.

Pub for drinks, pub for grub, pub for sports, pub for pre dinner, pub for post dinner. Also near the hospital incase you need to wait for somebody or take a patient for some brown medicine.

Had a one night stay and it was nice,didn't spend a lot of time there but when we interacted with the staff we found them friendly and helpful. Breakfast was excellent.

Sliding Rock is fine. I have the odd pint there - it's not exactly my regular. Drink is ok, staff seem ok. Food isn't bad. Place is quite clean and friendly enough.

Had a lovely stay at the sliding rock with my friends! Easy, flexible check in and check out. The rooms are clean and fairly utilitarian (read: small), but we spent most of our time out and about anyhow. The bathroom door stuck, and we couldn't get it completely shut, and it was a struggle to reopen it again. Water pressure in the shower was so-so, and the beds were on the firmer side. Not a perfect room, but gets the job done, and I'd definitely stay here again, due to the price, the food, and the location. The complimentary breakfast was great — recommend the scones with jam! We also had dinner there two nights; my friends raved about the fish and chips, and the bangers and mash was great!

Went for an early dinner. I had fish and chips I thought the fish was poor, not meeting the menu description for me. Service was good, better spot for a beer.
