The Sliding Rock in Galway

Went for an early dinner. I had fish and chips I thought the fish was poor, not meeting the menu description for me. Service was good, better spot for a beer.

Great food! Great Guinness! Great service! Highly recommend!

Nice pub, TVs outside and inside for watching sports.

The rooms are not large but very clean and functional. We can indeed hear the noise from the pub but nothing disturbing for my part. The breakfast is plentiful and good.

Stayed here with a friend and we really liked it. Positives: location was great, away from the center but only a 10min walk, we felt safe as two girls walking from the Latin quarter back at night. The staff was SO friendly, they refilled our water bottles for us (with ice) everytime and always said hi as we went in and out. Room was clean and nice with comfy beds. Free parking. A few shops around the area were nice. The pub was pretty busy and it was nice to be able to grab a drink downstairs. We forgot we had free breakfast and didn’t eat anything during our stay so can’t comment on food. Negatives: it was warmer than normal for June (2023) which isn’t there fault but there’s no ac so it was WARM. We had windows open but it is a bar so there were drunk people in the patio until late. I had a portable fan that I clipped to the bed and that really helped. The bathroom was teeny and the shower didn’t drain well and would flood the floor but we never asked them to fix it and I’m sure they would have tried if they could. I would easily stay here again

Very clean & a great breakfast.

Service was fast and great and both the Buffalo Wings Starter and Fish and Chips were excellent. Also pour great pints of Guinness! Menu has good variety for good value and would highly recommend.

ate in the sit down restaurant. Awesome chowder and whisky. Elderly lady server was cool, blunt, straight to the point. Was kind when we were missing a few cents.
