The Smugglers Rest in Clogherhead

The food was delicious, the dinner menu was amazing and a great price, the music made the atmosphere that much better! Could spend hours talking to Emma and Larry! Lovely place!

Shared a great evening with family in this restaurant. The food, atmosphere and service were exceptional. This was value for money. I highly recommend this venue. Wish I was closer to use it more regularly. Thank you to all the staff and management for making it special.

I read some bad reviews about this restaurant but decided to try it out. I must say the experience we had was excellent. We arrived on our bikes and the waitress Emma could not have been more helpful. The food was excellent, we both had the Scampi and it was really good. The prices are not bad either. Based on our experience I would definitely recommend to give it a try and make up your own mind.

Great mussels and scampi. Came in for lunch on a whim as I had a craving for seafood and wasn't disappointed. Would definitely pop by again

My wife and I stopped off in the Smugglers Rest Wednesday evening for a bite to eat on our journey towards Dundalk, just a side note if you have the chance to visit Clogherhead please do so, the scenery is beautiful.. As we entered the premises we were shown to our table, the waitress came over (apologies we cant recall her name but she went above and beyond to make sure we were looked after, we had great laugh with her I do remember she had bad taste in football teams despite her laying blame that she only followed them as it was her boyfriends team lol .. She explained Menu and what was the Specials, to our delight there was a 3 course special on for €21.95 (we were both starving, travelling all day) I had Chicken Wings to start, wife had Garlic Mushrooms both were perfect, I had the "Smugglers Scampi" if you are a fan of scampi and are in the area call in you will not be disappointed, my wife had the Fish and Chip option and was equally delighted.. For deserts we had the same choice Chocolate Brownie with Fresh Cream which was the perfect way to finish off a beautiful meal.. We will definitely be back if we are in the area again, food was exceptional and excellent value for money.. Ken & Brenda

Wonderful service, really good food.

I ordered the hot n spicy chicken burger overall it was spectacular though there was a little too much mayo. The service was amazing, food was great and I loved the atmosphere.
