Such a cozy little place! We came here for lunch, and it was a great choice for sure. The panini and sandwich were delicious, the bread was so fresh, there was plenty of sauce, so flavourful! The coffee and chai latte were great, too. Nice atmosphere and decor.

I really enjoyed staying here, the rooms were nicely decorated and had every thing you'd need. I'd recommend this bed and breakfast and stay again.

I purchased some gifts in their beautiful shop & surroundings & I then sampled some of their wonderful coffee & delicious food...my husband was at a meeting so it was a delight to dine in such relaxing surroundings.🌷

Townsend House

04/10/2024: We’ve just returned after two really enjoyable days at Townsend House in Birr. The warmth, hospitality and comfort at Townsend House was truly five star. The breakfasts were brilliant and the tapas last night were gorgeous and served brilliantly. Well done to Martin and Lorraine and their staff.
15/08/2024: Rooms were lovely and the garden was a fantastic quiet respite. Unfortunately our room was on the front and the traffic noise is horrendous. Our mates had a room in the back and said it was one of their best nights so I gave it 4 stars anyhow, but be sure not to take a room in the front. Also every pub and restaurant in town is closed on Wednesday and Thursday so we had to walk about a mile to a large hotel where we had a mediocre meal.
