Strandbar is a staple of Strandhill. Don’t leave without popping in for a pint, Pinot and/or Pizza. Admired by locals and tourists alike, this place has loads to offer in terms of space, menu (lunch and dinner) and drinks! It’s a lovely Irish pub that feels cosy in winter with their fireplace lit and has plenty of outdoor seating to enjoy the sunset on a summer day!
We’ve lived across the road for many years, popping in on a regular basis for pint, Pinot and Pizza. Recently, we’ve had our wedding after party there in their function room. The staff were helpful and accommodating and made both planning and execution a breeze! Our guests had fun and enjoyed the sunlit evening at the beachside. Couldn’t pick any better!
Thank you again.

5 stars for The Strand Bar in Sligo. Food & service was excellent. What really made our trip was the manager went out of his way to help when I was breastfeeding my baby. He noticed the spot I was sitting in wasn’t ideal and brought me to a much more comfortable area so me & my baby had more space and could relax. It was such a thoughtful gesture. It’s the small things like this that really make a place stand out. Staff who genuinely care and tune into the comfort of their diners make all the difference.

Nice spot, decent beer garden, fast service nice vibe. Guinness could be better, but passable. Walking distance if your staying in Strandhill camp site

More an open top apple strudel or galette than a traditional Irish apple tart. The fish was bland, the chips were nice. Overall ok food, quick, friendly service, nice bar. Great outside seating area.

'A definite go to, being a local or a visitor this is an amazing place to eat, socialise and have fun. We had out summer get together here and as always it never fails to impress. The photos are taken in the new Event Room, very bright and cheery. We booked in advance. The food was outstanding and service as always....faultless. Enjoy your experience 😊

We liked the ambiance at the Strand Bar. Everyone was friendly. We had the fish and chips and while the fish was good, the batter was heavier than I like. But one thing I could rave about was the bourbon ice cream. So delicious. Great spot near the beach.

We visited Strandhill at the weekend as a family and weren't able to stay outside for long in the bitter cold wind, however The Strand bar, which I recognised from previous visits to Strandhill many years before was a literal port in a storm.
The Strand welcomes you with an open fire, friendly staff and great menu. We had 2 young children with us and they were able to fit us in without a booking at lunch time on a Sunday. My husband cannot resist mussels when he sees them so he order them as a main with chips and a pint of 0.0 Guinness which he reported was excellent, I went for the Thai red curry which is served with rice and a popodum. My son had the children's curry which was the same as mine but slightly small portion (I should have split mine with him as ir was huge) and my daughter opted for the children's burger and chips, again quite big (she's only 3) but would be great for an older child (I don't know what the cut off age is 😅).
The staff provided a high chair, straws for the kids drinks, a corner nook (parents, if you know you know) and also the food arrived promptly.
I would recommend this bar restaurant to anybody visiting the area.
