The Strand Bar in Strandhill

Lots of room inside, and a good atmosphere. Large portions and good food. Although we were told it wasn't necessary to book, we are glad we did as it was busy when we turned up - as there aren't many other places to go in Strandhill!

I’ve spent two days in Strandhill and Sligo, and both days I’ve come to The Strand Bar. The staff is beyond helpful and are some of the more friendly personnel I’ve met during my trip to IE. If you find yourself in Strandhill, the Strand Bar is worth a visit! P.s. - Give the local beer a try!

Called in on a whim after a day on the beach. Absolutely delighted with the service, the surroundings, the menu and the delicious food. Highly recommended.

Was disappointed with my recent visit. I ordered the special Mexican chicken burger and requested it without two ingredients. The waiter wrote this down. I repeated it twice. The food came out and I noticed it had one of the ingredients which was disappointing but I picked it off. It was even more disappointing when I noticed the second ingredient was included. The drinks did not come to the table. We had to ask a separate waiter walking by if we could have our drinks brought to the table. We received no apology for the delay despite our food being eaten at this stage. I was really annoyed by this point. Obviously a problem with the chef in the kitchen as I noticed on the till that my meal had been customised. I understand that they were busy, but it was disappointing. This is not the first time that something like this has happened to me here.

Really enjoyed the food — the goat’s cheese dish is a must-try. The service was great and very friendly.
