The Tan Yard in Killarney

The Tan Yard served an amazing Tomahawk steak. The starters, especially the scallops, were delicious. As a joke, I ordered bubble gum ice cream for dessert, but I was pleasantly surprised. The service was not great, though. They forgot my beer order and also didn't check on us, even though our glasses were empty at one point and our plates were all cleaned off. We sat around for a long time waiting for wait staff to walk by.

Lovely dining experience. Great service and menu choices. Well plated and delicious. The vegan scallops were a well thought out treat! Each bite had a sweet/sour/crisp/soft element! Yum! The cauliflower steak was also a delight!! Our party of two enjoyed this early dinner (5pm) on a Tuesday evening.

Having read the reviews, I booked a table for two on a recent visit to Killarney. The town was buzzing and the restaurant was packed, with a wonderful warm, glowing atmosphere. The rooms are beautiful - full credit to the interior design team. The excellent floor manager showed us to one of the best tables in the place, tucked into a window right opposite the church, over the street. We were immediately tended to by our waitress, who brought our choice of water, and menus. We had house cocktails, served with delicious bread and dips. We ordered the black sole and sea bass, with sides of salad, mash and cauliflower gratin. All were perfect, so tasty. If I had one tiny complaint, it would be that the sea bass serving was tiny, where my friend's sole was so enormous that she gave me enough to make my plate just right. I think two small fillets of sea bass would have been more appropriate than just one. Desserts were good, and generous. Mint tea and decaf served afterwards. What really made our night though, was our lovely waitress, so friendly and utterly professional. A fabulous establishment, so well run and designed. I will certainly be back.

Magnificent, highly recommend the prawn starters and the black sole main!

Had a wonderful meal here recently with my husband to celebrate my birthday. The service was excellent and the food was delicious. I particularly enjoyed the tempura vegetables starter. They also brought out birthday chocolates at the end of the meal! Can't wait to eat here again one day!

Where do I start: the food was awsome however the service let the whole experience down. The only course that was correct and I could enjoy it with my wife was the starters. In the main courses the steak came out wrong and had to go back: no steak knife either. The puddings we order 2 different puddings and we received the same pudding twice: so it had to go back. All in all great meal just a little disappointed as a whole.

Beautiful atmosphere & food in the heart of Killarney. Both of our meals had amazing flavors with lovely presentation. The drink list is extensive and I suggest you give it a try. Highly recommended.
