I had the fillet. While the flavour was excellent, it was not among the most tender I have had. Unfortunately, it was cooked medium rather than medium-rare as requested. That said, it's fine for me, I'm not overly picky.
The mixed vegetables served alongside were cooked very well and close to perfect. The bone marrow was served on its own, without bread, but nevertheless added a nice touch of quality to the dish.
The pepper sauce, however, was disappointing. The cream dominated too strongly, leaving little to no trace of the dark base sauce or the pepper flavour itself. I would rate the sauce 2/10 and the fillet 7/10. The vegetables deserve a 9/10 - very good overall, though they could have used a little more seasoning.
The service was friendly and professional; however, the response to my remark about the pepper sauce was somewhat disappointing. While it may be true that different chefs prepare sauces slightly differently, a professional kitchen should follow established recipes and quality standards. A pepper sauce, in particular, is a classic preparation and should meet a certain minimum level of quality regardless of who prepares it.
I had to remind the staff that my drink was missing. Guests at our table who had been invited by the hotel due to an earlier incident appeared to receive noticeably more attention. As a paying guest, this felt somewhat unusual.
Overall I would give a 7/10 rating.

This restaurant was amazing from start to finish. The attention to detail was impressive, and Evan went above and beyond with his friendly and attentive service. We were celebrating our first anniversary, and he made it feel so special—an experience we won’t forget. Fantastic value for money, and I would absolutely recommend it.

In November we held our daughter’s wedding rehearsal dinner at The Tanyard restaurant at The Plaza Hotel Killarney Town. We had a most wonderful experience here. Killarney is known worldwide for being the No 1 tourist town in Ireland and believe me when I tell you they know how to answer the call. The food was incredible, the service and staff were amazing, the decor made you feel like you were walking through the pages of a fairytale magazine. All told they left us with a memory we will never forget and for that we are extremely grateful.

This was my second visit and both times I was blown away by the service , Tamos our waiter was exceptionally kind and attentive. The food was amazing, I have experienced the halibut, the organic salmon, the prawns, the crab claws, everything was to absolute satisfaction and was very impressed with the halibut size and value for money. Highly recommend and am already booked again.

Went here to eat for our last night staying in Killarney . We were so pleased with the interior , so very cozy and inviting . The food was delicious. The service was on point too . We would like to give a special shout out to Tamas , he really added an authentic touch to the whole experience and took some insta worthy pictures for us ! ☺️

Went here to celebrate my honeymoon with my husband and WOW. They really treated us amazing.
The cocktails are so bomb. My hubby got the yew tree and i got the belt and braces and they were the best drinks we had the whole trip.
The gruyere mashed potatoes were so good I want to make them for thanksgiving.
I got the venison which was good not great but the hostess and the waiter acknowledged our big day, which was so sweet. They gave us a delicious dessert and I am so haopy we came here!
