The Thatch Bar & Restaurant in Glenties

Amazing food and plenty of it. Staff are honest, friendly and down to earth. Toilets were so clean. Would highly recommend. Will definitely be calling again.

It was such a wonderful place. Highly recommend! I got very homely feeling and everyone was so welcoming and helpful. They make the best food. Service was also so good. It is a must visit and worth it. Also it is a warm dine in for couples too😃

Travelling through Glenties, Co. Donegal, my wife, myself and Ruby, our Cockapoo dog stopped at The Thatch where we enquired about Sunday Lunch. As we are only too well aware ‘Dog Friendly’ premises are few and far between in many parts of Donegal. No problem to the Thatch, they were more than kind welcoming to us all. We had an excellent Lunch, I had the Special, Lamb Tikka Masala, Rice and Chips, with a Nann Bread, which was specially made with No Garlic, my wife had Asian Salmon, with Asian Salad and Fries - The food was all of Hotel Standard, better than many of the Hotels we have eaten in. Roisin, who was in charge and Nadeen who served us were most attentive, they could not have been nicer. In addition we had wanted to watch the Ireland v Scotland Rugby Match, again no problem. Before finishing my wife went for the Berry Crumble which was delicious ! We will not drive past The Thatch again - the place is well worth visiting, loved it ! To the owners, your Staff are well worth holding onto, they are a worthy addition to your business, oh and hold on to the Chef 👍

Well worth a visit, excellent food and friendly service

Had my birthday dinner there and what an experience it was. The staff was so accommodation to the kids and very patient as they placed their own orders. The food was amazing the place is beautiful. Highly recommend this for anyone travelling this side.

New menu and owners at the Thatch are doing fantastic things!! Very enjoyable meal here and nice atmosphere at the bar. We will be back.

The rich menu, the warm atmosphere and the best food! I've taken the chicken Kiev special today which was so comforting and delicious!

Thank you for a fabulous meal this evening! Delicious starters of.mushrooms and Brie with delightful salad with a lovely dressing the mains were lovely too best steak my husband has had for a long time and my pasta dish was so tasty lovely sauce and lots of Parmesan! The service was excellent even though it was busy we were very well looked after We will be back soon!
