The Village Hotel in Laytown-bettystown-mornington

Stopped here after a long day working in Dublin while en route to Belfast the following day. Check in very smooth, although we had to find the staff who were working in the Bar/Restaurant which was very busy. Triple Room was spacious and comfortable and it was only for one night so we did not really get to see much of the hotel. Ate in the Bar/Restaurant and despite it being really busy the staff managed well and got our drinks and food out quite quickly. Menu is extensive and caters for all tastes and preferences with a good selection of meat, fish and vegetarian options. Prices very fair and service good overall. Better to stay in a smaller local hotel like the Village than the impersonal and cookie cutter atmosphere of the chains and larger shed like hotels.

A nice little hotel good value for money rooms are warm and clean. Food was good was in a handy location for my purposes.

The hotel is incredible, but there were a few issues with our staying. The suite I booked on the website was called “Garden suite”, arriving to the hotel they said the suite was called “the bridal suite”, which lead my partner and I to an argument as they thought I was proposing, which supposed to be a good night out, starting off with an unpleasant surprise! The room was amazing, but the hot water and the heating system was not working and when we told reception, they said it would be sorted out in a few minutes, we had hot water for 10 minutes and that was all, also they provide a Bath and a shower, but just 2 towels, which is odd. Then, we decided to have dinner at the room, I went down to order and they delivered missing the dessert and the gravy, nothing was offered to apologized to us. The staff, at least, were friendly the whole time.

Absolutely had a fantastic night at our christmas party , food was lovely and the the band where brilliant , then into the bar after where another band where playing really great night. Rooms are lovely and staff very friendly

It’s taken me nearly 2 weeks to write this review as I just simply am devastated my time here is over 😂 We had our wedding here in November , which we only started to organise from July ! My first point of contact was grainne and from our first phone call I knew the village hotel was the place for us . What started as a party turned into a full blown wedding , and grainne was fantastic the whole way through !! Plenty of times I changed my mind and each time grainne just took it all in her stride and put together the day that we imagined . Our ceremony room was absolutely stunning , the way it was laid out , the decor , the lighting!! It was perfect for us !! We had a break in the weather and made use of the garden for photos which was amazing! Our reception was perfect with our guests enjoying Prosecco and macarons which I requested and they were presented so beautifully ! The dining room was absolutely beautiful for our meal and everybody said how fantastic the food was , and every couple always worries about the food including us - we had absolutely nothing to worry about . The courses were served in great time and nobody had an empty stomach afterwards as the portions were so large. We used the house dj for music and we had a great time for the night . Honestly our only complaint is that our night ended 😂 The rooms were perfect and none of our guests had any complaints , we booked out the whole hotel and everybody had an amazing breakfast the next morning . So to grainne , Aidee , ciaran , sinead , and all the rest of the staff in the village hotel thank you so much for hosting our wedding ! We had an absolute ball ❤️

After a lapse of several months, we returned to the Village Hotel for a evening of good food and drinks among friends. And they didn't let us down. From the time of arrival till we departed the service was friendly and on point, attentive and engaging. Special requests were no hassle whatsoever. going the extra mile at every turn. Thanks guys. The food was excellent, a fresh innovative menu and very tasty dishes indeed. Plenty of choice and everyone of us were very happy. I must compliment their amazing cocktail list which delivers in spades. I had a mojito, made from the best of ingredients. Keep up the good work Village Hotel.

Awesome Staff and Great enviroment. Rooms are really clean. Would definitely return. Wifi and a few smaller fixtures could use updating. But our experience here was top tier.

The head Chef is worth his weight in GOLD. Absolute gentleman. Was a extremely busy Thursday today and the service was slow but understandable and he made the effort to individually make me lactose free pancakes for dessert without even asking as dessert was part of the set menu. This was during an extremely busy period as well. I am quite well travelled and all their themed nights are extremely authentic and delightfully priced. Again I cannot stress this enough the chef deserves extremely high praise for how he has the food running and he particularly attention to detail and authenticity
