Everything was perfect, the steak was delicious. We had a very simple anniversary dinner, yet it was made special with very little. Great location, and fast, friendly service. Great experience, thank you so much 😄

We had a great time at The Woollen Mill and overall it was a really enjoyable experience. The food was excellent, everything we ordered was very tasty and well prepared, and the atmosphere was lively and welcoming. The staff were friendly and the whole place had a really nice buzz about it. The only downside was that the table we were sitting at wasn’t very comfortable. Also, we wouldn’t really recommend sitting outside unless the weather is unusually good! Ireland is just too cold most of the time to properly enjoy outdoor seating. Also would expect Guinness to be served. But overall, we had a great experience, really enjoyed the food, and would definitely come back.

This was the best restaurant we ate at during our 3-day stay in Dublin. The prices are reasonable considering the quality. We were very satisfied with our meal: the burgers were tasty and well-prepared, and the steak I chose was perfectly cooked and delicious. We highly recommend this place.

Seems to be a reservation only place, we were lucky to get a table in the outdoor area. Food was good, slightly overpriced though. I had the granola (real big portion but could do with a bit more yogurt 😊). The coffee was good, they don’t have any flavours/syrups though.

We tried here on a whim for a last minute booking on a Saturday night (booked 2hrs before arriving) and were honesty impressed. The service was remarkably quick, order taken within a good time of seating and then within 10 mins drinks were with us and food 20 minutes later. It was a perfectly paced meal. The food was simple but done very well. We opted for Ragu Rigatoni with a side of tenderstem and (as were in Ireland for the weekend) Irish Bread & Butter. We both thoroughly enjoyed our meal. Service was friendly and attentive - would highly recommend.

Great restaurant! The atmosphere is pleasant. The service is also very pleasant and even memorable. Their food is more than delicious – I tried the fried white fish with potatoes and sauce. It was prepared brilliantly. The beer is simply wonderful and there can be no room for comment on this topic.

The place is nice, but we were a little disappointed with our experience. While food and service were all right, the food lacked somewhat in flavour and the service wasn’t very warm unfortunately. And the place was more kid-friendly than we expected- great for families but not exactly what we were looking for as a date night.

Tolka House

16/05/2026: Lucy and kitty made the first experience amazing experts in whiskey would highly Recommend here without a doubt
07/05/2026: We popped in for dinner and a pint. The decor, vibe, ambiance, and feel do not match the food or service. I ordered the "pie of the day" (chicken and bacon with a side of mashed potatoes and roasted veg) and my husband the burger. At €20 a plate I was expecting something other than what appeared to be boiled and thickly cut chicken breast with a few bit of bacon in an overly salted cream sauce along with run of the mill mashed potatoes with small chunks of veg that were pan fried. It almost smacked of what you could get as a pre-made meal at Tesco. The burger was equally disappointing. Dry, overcooked (was never asked how it should be prepared), and the toppings were underwhelming. The chips that came with the burger were OK, but unremarkable and should have been cooked for at least another minute or two to crisp up the outside. When I say the vibe didn't match the service, it boils down, quite a bit, to the service. The bartender would frequently mess with his hair showing his midriff. If you're going to present your establishment as a "cut above", I would expect a bit of decorum with proper attire. Our server (I didn't catch her name) had the personality of a rock and was cold (never mean, but definitely has the feeling she didn't really want to be there). Maybe it's because it's the "low season" being early May, but come on! For €52 for 2 meals and 2 pints, surely you can do better. Also, what is up with the weird thumping noise that was vibrating the ceiling lights? Super annoying.

Ashtons Gastropub

20/03/2026: Dropped in for a drink in a Friday afternoon, very friendly, great service. Dog friendly in the bar when we visited! Food menu looks nice also.
10/03/2026: We hosted a party for 170 friends in “The Arts Club”at Ashtons last weekend. We had the best experience we possibly could have had. Everything was so well managed and executed, the room lends itself to a gathering of that size. The food was great, we had chosen some cocktails that were delicious and also had a full bar that was fully staffed so there was no waiting for drinks . All the staff were extremely pleasant, helpful and professional.
