The Yard Café was my daily go-to during the Kilkenny Roots Festival! I got a bag of their fantastic Hoodwinker coffee beans to take home, and it makes a rich, delicious brew every single morning. The perfect, practical souvenir for any tourist visiting Kilkenny - and a must-buy for every coffeeholic, too!

Great atmosphere and service was quick and attentive. Ordered the classic avocado egg on sourdough and presentation was spot on. However, the sourdough was rock hard, couldn’t even cut through it. Old bread or toasted hours ago, either way it spoiled the whole dish. Wouldn’t be rushing back.

Super little cafe to grab food at any time of the day. Lots of savoury and sweet choices and a great coffee menu. Staff are professional, friendly and welcoming. Overall an extremely pleasant experience

The food is delicious, you can feel the heart on the plate. The coffee is the best in town. It's a small local cafe; my husband and I love coming here for breakfast. I highly recommend it!

Great little cafe ...very small inside, but covered outdoor seating also. Food delicious,very fresh & flavour-some...cakes/salads/soups all home made 🍰🥪 definitely worth a visit for wholesome food.

Bewley's Café

21/05/2026: Pizza is good for the price. They charge you extra if you're eating pizza from there. Strange! The service is not great also. One time they send me a wrong pizza order. They asked me to drive back to make it right when complained. But they kept the old opened pizza box for themselves and gave me the new one. No proper apology. I'd have given both the boxes for the troubles atleast, if i was the manager.
27/02/2026: The service and staff first class, the food was delicious. So top marks all around
