Lekker food collection

04/09/2026: Another absolute top notch experience in lekker, the value for money is second to none. The food is absolutely delicious (especially the mushrooms) As you can see from my plate everything looks amazing.
The bread on the side was so nice a nice little touch to add to the breakfast itself. I will be returning again for sure.
The staff are so friendly in here and very helpful and welcoming. It really is somewhere you MUST go to if you're passing through or live in Thomastown already.

19/03/2026: Visited The BlackBerry cafe in Thomastown with my 91 year old Ma, who was born in Thomastown. Ma had a toasted ham and cheese sandwich, my wife had the sausage roll with chutney and I had a cheese salad sandwich with organic vegetable soup. We all had tea to drink. The food and drink were served to the table quickly. All the food was well presented and tasted great. The staff were friendly and efficient. Great spot for a quick lunch. I thought that our lunch was good value for money.

01/08/2026: I went to Yard Café to get something to eat. After placing my order, I sat inside and watched one of the staff members preparing my food. I noticed she was touching the fridge, delivery boxes, door handles, and other surfaces while wearing the same gloves she was using to prepare the food.
After seeing this, I immediately cancelled my order because I was concerned about the risk of cross-contamination. In my opinion, this is a serious food safety issue that should be addressed. Unfortunately, I won't be returning.

02/08/2026: Good coffee but I have rarely experienced a smile from the staff. There this morning and observed 4 others plus myself purchasing coffees and not a thank you was uttered to any of us. Good manners & a smile costs nothing. Pity.
03/06/2026: Another hidden specialty coffee shop. Surprisingly, they serve coffee from 3 Fools Coffee Roasters in Cork, so the quality of their brews is undoubtedly very good.
It's quite a unique place for such a small, yet very picturesque town. They have a small selection of pastries, some very fashionable açaí bowls, and a range of protein shakes, which I unfortunately didn't have the opportunity to try.
This is definitely a coffee shop worth visiting and spending some time in to sit down and relax.

09/08/2026: Fabulous chocolatier. An experience. Small chocolatier with a few different products. Ordered a white hot chocolate with cardamom, it was so good. However my only groan is that it didn’t come with a complimentary chocolate. At €5 you’d expect it. Bought a box of 12 chocolates. Not a wide variety. Not 12 different flavours available, had to duplicate a few flavours. Another groan I’d have. Variety is the spice of life. So in total I spent €30 but no complimentary chocolate to taste. That’s devastating. Ample parking available within close proximity to the shop. Not open on Sundays.
03/07/2026: I've never had such tasteless chocolate in my life, tasted like paper and was way too expensive

02/08/2026: Really fancied a good curry, unfortunately the food failed to deliver.
The owner was pleasant and friendly, but seemed rushed. We had a butter chicken and chicken masala, with rices paratha and onion bhajis, all very nice apart from the chicken dishes. There seemed to be no depth of flavour to the dishes, almost as though the dishes had been prepared with no marination. Overall a pleasant meal, but just failed to deliver on the main course dishes.
12/07/2026: Saag paneer was just ok. The naan was very small for 4 Euros. The chips were poor quality and expensive at 4 euros.

11/05/2026: Has to be the worst service & food ever , we asked a couple of questions & the man serving us answered with grunts & ignorence , I asked for chips & chicken tenders & when we got home he had gave me very very greasy onion rings instead of chicken tenders ,they were floating in grease & lukewarm . Chips were the same tepid & ,so greasy .

24/08/2026: We got Chinese from lams last night everything was great until the chicken balls , they weren't cooked correctly sometimes one mightn't be but no the whole bag wasn't if we had eaten them or our kids they would of been severely sick . My partner went back to lams to explain this for him to be questioned and say they weren't pink and then blaming there suppliers and say they have had this complaint before , they had every excuse under the sun all they offered was another portion of chicken balls which is beyond the joke 😡I've never had a complaint about here other than today whatever happened to the customer is always right this place is all about themselfs and just been utterly rude we will never return here again !!
20/08/2026: Was expecting authentic Chinese cuisine. But sadly it wasn't. Food was good anyway.
