Sun came out - we sat in their back yard and had the best lunch of our trip. Food was fresh, atmosphere was on point, and service was ultra friendly and fun with our small family.
What a fun place to spend some time. On a Saturday afternoon it was full of people just having drinks and a good time. Cozy inside but they have two additional seating areas including an outdoor courtyard with a fantastic view. The seafood chowder was spot on, filled with fish and no fillers like potatoes. Some of the best chowder I have had in Ireland and I have had many. So after driving the Slea Head, do yourself a favor and make a stop here. It will add to your days pleasure.
Now is is my kind of pub 2 auld fellas sitting at the bar having the chats. we did have a drink as we had to drive but I could see myself going back for a pint or 6. the food was good auld fashioned irish food 10 out 10 for this. I order the toasty special words cant describe how good it was. my wife got the salmon salad which was always 10/10 and raw some got a bowl of chips which could feed an army. just a amazing place and one of the best beer garden in ireland.
Magical place. Wonderful kindness and hospitality. I did not want to leave the town or the room I rented or the pub full of great conversation and jovial liveliness.
From the laughter to the shared conversations, you just knew this was where friends and close ones gathered for a good pint of beer. Tomás was very kind enough to get me a sandwich despite the kitchen being closed by the time I came to visit. As a solo traveller, it can be nerve-wracking eating/drinking alone but not at this special spot.
