A lovely reward after the walk along the river, the calamari was so tasty and so were the mussels. We went in just after it opened at 12:30 and by 1:10 on a Friday afternoon, they were fully and taking people on the wait list. Staff were so friendly and having the fire on while it was a cold afternoon was a nice touch

The Bulman was a destination for me in Kinsale and I’m glad I went out of my way to eat there. Came on a sunny day and got in before the lunch rush. Cheerful service and fantastic views. I had a mussels special that was easily the best thing I ate in my time in Ireland. They clearly put a lot of thought into their menu and incorporate a lot of fresh local ingredients.
After eating I took another pint and sat out on the water to soak up some sun. So many people out enjoying the fantastic rare bit of sunshine and drinking pints.
Def recommend walking or driving out of Kinsale to this spot. Can walk directly to the nearby Charles Fort while in the area.

My wife and I stopped here on our honeymoon for lunch. Both of us odered the fish and chips. While staying in Ireland for 11 days, we had fish and chips about 5 times. The Bulman offered the best!
Making a reservation is a must. The staff was extremely friendly and kind enough to suggest some local paths to walk. This provided some amazing scenic views.
The restaurant was clean and showed proper care to the atmosphere. We ate on the 2nd floor with a wonderful view of the inlet and sailboats passing thru.
We wish we would have been able to eat here more than once. Our suggestion to any travelers would be to stay in Kinsale a day or two minimum. With dinner or lunch at the "The Bulman Bar" being a must.

Wonderful spot. Our entire meal and the pints were good. But the standout star…the greatest oysters I’ve ever eaten in my life!! Not said lightly, but it’s the truth. Well shucked and presented from Jamie’s in Oysterhaven. All the staff was lovely and attentive.

We stumbled upon an exceptional pub, The Bulman. Its a good stretch of the legs from busy Kinsale, and worth the effort (apologies to locals 😉).
Hilly walk back from Fort Charles in need of revigoration. Accommodating and friendly staff got us a table near end of food service(and it was busy), great pints, atmosphere, high quality food (fish and chips).
Wonderful, memorable visit

The Bulman Bar is steeped in tradition, full of character, has history in abundance and with an atmosphere that cannot be described. All of this as a result of time and tradition.
Uniquely situated on the outskirts of Kinsale, looking across the harbour to the town and next to Charles Fort, the Bulman Bar is a mere 10 meters from the Atlantic Ocean, in the scenic village of Summercove. Whether you drop in for a drink, or a bite to eat, a welcoming log fire greets you.
