Beautiful authentic b&b, great hosts - and a beautiful tapas restaurant next door ran by them also, so everything covered!!

Hello! We really enjoyed our stay at the hotel: everything was clean, comfortable, and cozy. We especially appreciated the comfortable mattress — it was a great sleep. We were very satisfied with the check-in: there is parking, and the owner kindly met us even at midnight, although the reception closes at 10. He waited for us, and everything went perfectly. In the morning, there was a wonderful breakfast in a pleasant atmosphere. We were completely satisfied and gladly recommend this hotel to others!

First class accommodation in the heart of Birr. The hosts are so friendly and attentive to all your needs. Fantastic healthy-option breakfasts, freshly prepared. I had dinner here at the Tapas restaurant which is a bright, spacious and fun restaurant with fantastic food options! I’m definitely coming back to Townsend House 😁👍

Had a truly lovely evening at Townsend House Tapas in Birr with my wife and daughter. From the moment we walked in, the warm and welcoming atmosphere set the tone for a fantastic night. The staff were outstanding—attentive, friendly, and genuinely enthusiastic about what they do. The tapas selection was spot on, offering just the right variety without overwhelming the menu. Each dish was beautifully presented and full of flavour, with generous portion sizes that made sharing easy and enjoyable. It’s clear that a lot of care goes into both the service and the food. A gem of a place that brings something unique to Birr. We’ll definitely be back. Highly recommended.
