I brought my mother to the The Pippin Tree, Kilashee Hotel for afternoon tea for her birthday. We both had an excellent time and the food was absolutely delicious. The coronation chicken and mango chutney sandwiches were to die for and the panna cotta was served with fresh fruit and was utterly outstanding. My mother particularly enjoyed the egg mayonnaise on Guinness brown bread. As it was my mothers birthday we were also given an extra brownie as a treat, which was a lovely touch. Our enjoyment of the food was only enhanced with the excellent service by Shauna, who I can certainly describe as gifted in customer service and communication. She attended to our every need and was friendly, chatty and informative throughout. We really felt looked after during our visit. Overall it was a lovely experience and we are certain to return!

My partner and I loved our first experience of afternoon tea at the Killashee Hotel. The service was very friendly and accommodating of making the dishes vegetarian. Coffee and tea were great and the scones were the best I’ve ever had so far. So fluffy and far from dry! We were located at the bar upstairs so I cannot judge about the atmosphere of the restaurant downstairs. But I really liked the privacy as we were not sitting table next to table and could just enjoy are time together. Price is higher but figuring you are sitting in a luxury hotel and having a classic Irish-castle experience, the price is somewhat justified.
