Umai in Dublin

I had such a great experience at Umai in Dundrum! The salmon poke bowl was super fresh and delicious, but what really stood out was the service — the girl who helped me (kinata) was so kind and friendly. I asked for a special request and she handled it with such a lovely attitude. It really made my day! Highly recommend this place — amazing food and even better people 💚

Finally! A sushi restaurant in Dublin that know what they’re doing! They also changed my order when I mistakenly ordered raw tuna. So helpful and friendly.

If you’re ever wandering Dundrum Town Centre and craving some dependable Japanese food, Umai is always a safe bet. From sushi to ramen to poke bowls, their menu is fresh, varied, and thoughtfully prepared — you can tell the ingredients are good quality and that everything is made with care.  What really stands out is consistency — every time I go, the food is solid. The flavours hit, portions are generous, and even when things get busy, they never seem to cut corners.  On top of that, the staff at the till are always warm and welcoming. It’s not the kind of place where you feel rushed or brusqued; they seem genuinely happy to see you, helpful with the menu, and customer service feels personal. A small but important detail that makes the meal all the sweeter.  All in all, Umai does exactly what a good local Japanese restaurant should: consistent, tasty food, friendly people, and a comfortable spot whether you’re grabbing something quick or taking your time. Highly recommend.

We go there often; the food is delicious, fresh, and very tasty! The service is kind, and the lady is always smiling! We have very positive experiences and can only recommend it.

Food was great, thoroughly enjoyed the daily bento today! Was in a rush for food but was looking for something nutritious and this did not disappoint! Located at the food court in Dundrum with plenty of chairs and tables. The front desk staff was lovely and courteous, she had a warm personality and professional! Would recommend and come back again. Made my day 👍🏼🤩

I was so happy to find such delicious and authentic Japanese food here in Ireland! I had the salmon poke bowl with miso soup, and both were great and full of flavor. The service was wonderful as well. Hinata the staff at the counter had a lovely smile and made the whole experience even more enjoyable. Alarm in the kitchen was also very friendly and created such a fun atmosphere! I’ll definitely come back again.
