Came here on a Friday afternoon in August when airport was quite busy. Layout and design is nice with good people watching seats. Music loud but not unbearable. Quality of food is very poor, particularly considering the advertising on the shop focuses on the 'fresh' baguettes. Very little chicken in the southern fried sandwich with far too much mayo. Will try again in future incase this was a bad day.

Came here since i heard really good reviews i decided to dine in and the place was real nice the most cleanist dine in place ever and food so fresh i cant wait to tell all my friends about uppercrust and the friendly staff

The Valley House Bar

14/08/2025: Wonderful place in a beautiful location. Very friendly too. Had some descent beers on and the food was great.
07/08/2025: Once a traditional hostel, this beautifully transformed historic house now blends the comfort and elegance of a boutique hotel with the friendly, communal spirit of a hostel. The private rooms are located in the main house, and I loved the colourful and artistic decor Alice has created. It gives it a stylish and eclectic atmosphere without loosing the spirit of the historic manor home I am visiting now since over 30 years. A generous continental breakfast, complete with Irish soda bread is served in the stately dining room which becomes a restaurant by night. Excellent food is also served in the pub or adjacent patio. A bonus is the cottage style kitchen located in the former stables which is available for all guests. This is also where Pat and Alice placed the most famous table of all of Ireland. The Valley House is a wonderful, welcoming place I was happy to see is coming back to its former splendour without loosing its friendliness.

Every single detail — from the house itself to the food, location, drinks, and accommodations — is magic. But it's the staff that make every experience here unforgettable. We were so blessed to have our wedding here in July, and it made every last one of our dreams come true. All of our guests raved about our time there, and the service was at the center of every great experience. We can't thank Fran, Tommy, Abby, Aine, Gemma, and the countless other restaurant, house, and housekeeping staff enough. They aren't just excellent at their jobs — they are kind, genuine, professional, and made us feel incredibly special. Tankardstown House is an absolute gem, and we can't wait to pay them a visit again (hopefully very soon!)
