Can't fault this place. Great food and atmosphere.

We hadn't booked but they squeezed us in. The food was delicious. Lovely meal in a beautiful location!

Disappointed the more we think about it. Because of health issues suffered by me we have not been able to go out and relax properly for approx 15 months till yesterday evening. It was supposed to be a celebration of me getting over surgery (3 weeks ago) to correct health issues and my birthday. We had booked a table but because of work reasons my partner got home late so I rang to say we would be late and was there any possible way we could re book for later. Mgr said yes but we would be getting a bad table. I was ok with this as it was my fault for not making a later booking. We were shown to the bad table but were astounded when we later discovered that we could have been seated at lots of other tables because by the time we were leaving at 9pm nobody still had not been seated at these empty tables. It was busy but by no means full to capacity. There was no excuse for it. Others came in after us and all the stops were pulled out for them......clearly regulars. There shouldn't really be a table where we were seated not even a view of the lake. I have worked extensively in waitressing I know how the business works. We might have become regulars too. We both found the host to not be very welcoming when we arrived. It's not a cosy place and we don't live in the Mediterranean just because we got 2/3 days of an Indian summer. The air conditioning must have been on full blast as my partner was getting it in the back and the front door wide open too. My partner had to ask twice for it to be turned down and it wasn't the fault of the waitress in question, she did her job. Crab salad and super food chicken salad were excellent as were the apple and rhubarb crumble and mango and passion fruit cheesecake but the duck breast for mains was very mediocre and we both found it to be tough. Price wise way too expensive for what we experienced. How the award was won is beyond us. Unfortunately we won't be back.
