Whitford House Hotel in Wexford

I stayed here the day before Christmas Eve and overall the experience was just okay. The check-in process was awkward from the start. The reception staff member serving me walked away mid-conversation after asking if I was checking in, and another staff member had to take over. It came across as abrupt and unprofessional, especially for a four-star property. I've read the low rating reviews and it looks like other people have similar experiences. Not very good for a 4 star Hotel, this isn't Ibis Budget. There was also confusion at reception with Christmas gifts displayed behind the desk. Every other guest checking in or out appeared to be receiving one, but my partner and I didn’t. When we asked, we were told the gifts were only for people buying gift cards, but there was no sign explaining this and we weren’t offered the option to purchase one either at check in. Given it was the day before Christmas Eve, it felt uncomfortable and a bit excluding. I later double checked with another staff member and was told the same thing, which just reinforced that clearer communication was needed. Maybe the person running reception should work elsewhere. The hotel itself was okay. The gym felt quite run down with older equipment, but the pool looked nice. I’ve since read other reviews mentioning similar issues with reception staff, so it may be time for management to review how the front desk is run, as the poor service experience seems to be a recurring problem. I'm glad I am not the only one!

Had a beautiful evening meal here food was tremendous and great value

If I could give 10 stars I would. Fabulous hotel, caring & attentive staff couldn’t do enough for our party of 9. Food, drinks, rooms & location couldn’t be better. Thanks Whitford House Hotel. We will be back.

Had an excellent stay at Whitford House. Beautiful clean abd welcoming hitel. Excellent leisure centre. Rooms super clean abd food excellent. Just posted a picture of my desert which was absolutely scummy. Would highly recommend the Whitford hotel. Another two day break. Lovely extremely clean and welcoming hotel. All decorated for christmas. Great food and service. Would highly recommend a visit.

Food only: Completely overrated and over priced, a total fall from grace of what used to be a reliable food stop. The competition around it has surpassed it greatly.

Food and service is always amazing in Whitford

A friend and I had lunch there.it was really lovely served by wonderful engaging staff.

Excellent hotel, great breakfast, food lovely in the bar/restaurant.
