Woodford Dolmen Hotel in

Just back from a two night break in the Dolmen. Really can’t recommend this place highly enough. Prices very fair and exceptional food. However probably its strongest point was the staff. Take a bow every one of you. So friendly and helpful. We will return

Wednesday 12th we had a family meeting in the bar for a bereavement. I just want to thank the staff working that day for their kindness. Everyone was obviously upset, and we were very well looked after, it was really appreciated.

Did not stay here as we were only passing and stopped in for a bite to eat at lunchtime. The hotel was quiet enough but the bistro was pretty busy. We had a sweet and sour chicken dish which was not very sweet nor sour. It was pretty bland. I had the striploin beef special which was not great. The meal came with a large Yorkshire puddings at the base and the veg, mash and meat all in it with the gravy already poured over everything. This resulted in everything bar the meat becoming soggy. The meat itself was very tough. It would have been better if the meat was tenderised a bit more and the gravy came in a separate dish so that the customer can pour as much as they need on themselves. The staff were extremely helpful and friendly.

Stayed here with family for a family funeral recently and could not fault one thing about this hotel. On arrival the receptionist we met was a lovely girl who is excellent at her job I'd love to be able to remember her name but I can't....we had evening meal here waitress was again excellent only thing I would say about food was that the veg was cold wen served but I'm sure if we opened our mouth and said this the waitress wud have corrected it but because staff was so friendly and nice we couldn't complain 🙈🙈🙈 .went to our room I have to say the bed was so comfortable I cud have stayed here for a wk everything about our room was perfect....nxt morning we had breakfast and again no complaints and on checking out it was quick and simple thank you to all at the Woodford dolman hotel

Food was good.We had breakfast/lunch and dinner. About the hotel rooms...was clean, would be nice to have a fridge(free of charge) in the room, especially when there is no shops around by.

Nice hotel with spacious and clean room, comfy bed, park options just in front. Outside the city, but have a bar/restaurant so you don't have to move. Breakfast ok, tasty and enough choices.

Had a lovely meal. Food was beautiful. Staff were very friendly. The restaurant was still decent out in Christmas decorations and was lovely.
