09/12/2024: Butcher was very disappointing on Saturday night last. We were left waiting in the hallway for 10-15 minutes for our table. One meal and several sides delivered late. Various steak sauces ordered – pepper sauce arrived for all the sauces. Steak not cooked to order – everything was rare. This industrial size, (noisiest in Ireland?) steak house has overreached and is well past its best. It’s not cheap either. Our food arrived an hour after we were seated. The bill was delivered very promptly and within ten seconds the card machine. We were then asked to vacate the table immediately as we had overstayed our time. It was a busy night and there is only one gent’s toilet, so you have to queue!! I was part of a party of 6 irate local people, all of whom vowed – never again. Goodbye Butcher, there are several far better restaurants in Kilkenny.
03/12/2024: Very disappointed. Reservation made for 5 people, given a table for 4 with no apology. Reservation made for 4.45pm. Place was far too busy and staff struggled to be polite due to the pressure. Steak wasn't cooked to specification. Tried to catch staffs eye to pay the bill without success and then asked to vacate the table. Very noisy atmosphere. Would not recommend

24/11/2024: Came in for a quick takeaway on my way home, and I was waiting for a pizza, I was seated for 10 minutes and said to my partner I will walk up and wait for it incase it’s ready, I was I wouldn’t even say greeted, more interrogated by what looked like the manager by the name of Moire (short cut hair in a shirt) As a restaurant manager myself, I understand the pressure of busy environments, however, it was not busy there was maybe 1 other person waiting for food, and I didn’t think I needed to be aggressively told to sit down and that it takes more than 10 minutes to make a pizza. I then responded that I had been seated for 10 minutes and came up to check on my ordered. While sitting down the end of the restaurant I hear this “manager” moire continuously complaining about myself, my partner also heard this. I cannot believe the level of disregard and frustration towards 1 of not too many customers this evening. Harry who took our order and delivered our food to our table was more than pleasant! More staff like harry, less staff like moire..
30/10/2024: Can't go wrong with Supermacs, it is what it is!
Service is great at all times of the day, but would advise fellow foreigners to be careful late at night as locals aren't exactly too fond of immigrants. Only ever ran into these tough guys at Supremacs though, likely because its one of the only late night food options in town.
Xenophobic clientele aside, I love supermacs!!! Might Mac without a middle bun is the way to go!
