03/11/2025: We eat here a few times each year and always choose the cod and chips. Quite simply it is the best I have ever tasted. The staff are 200% friendly, they love dogs (even give treats) and have a good chat with you. If you are in the area, this is the best place to eat.dawn and Colin Kirk
26/10/2025: The best steak I’ve ever had perfectly cooked, incredibly tender, and packed with flavour. Absolute perfection from start to finish. And a huge shoutout to Joe who served us, who was absolutely brilliant!

06/09/2025: Came here for day two of our wedding, got married in slieve Russel, 5 mins from hotel, organised buses, food, Couldn't ask for better, made it very easy and was absolutely brilliant from start to finish.

12/11/2025: A lovely homey little spot in Ballyconnell town. Plenty of options for all dietary needs. It was like a blast from the past coming in here, but in the best way. It reminded me of childhood. Such a cosy little restaurant.

04/12/2025: My partner and I had heard about this cafe on Facebook so we thought we'd pop in on the way from Donegal down to Meath (we live in Donegal, he grew up in Ballyconnell, and the parents live in Kells,so we thought we'd pop by). It was very disappointing.
The Food is 1* at best. "home-made" means "heated up in-store"... It's all processed (minus the cakes which seem to be freshly made).
The waiting staff are very un-enthusiastic (bar one woman whose name I think was Annette or Anita.... She seemed to be genuine). The rest behave like they don't want to be there.
It seems if you are a friend of the owner you'll be smothered in love, otherwise, you'll be ignored and the un-enthusiastic girls will be left to deal with you.
The coffees and cakes are the only redeeming factors, but I'm very disappointed by my experience. We would have had more flavour if we'd waited to get McDonald's 20 minutes down the road.
21/11/2025: Absolutely loved my visit to this café! The atmosphere is cozy and welcoming, and the staff are incredibly friendly and attentive. My order came out quickly, and everything tasted fresh. I’ll definitely be coming back.

24/09/2025: This was by far one of our favorite lunch spots while in Ireland. The food was superb. The owners were the kind, witty, and so welcoming. Please stop and try this wonderful establishment.

03/08/2025: I would say this is probably the worst experience of fast food I have ever had.
I ordered 2 philly cheese steak subs and a child's hamburger meal. The kids meals advertised were not available.
I was told they "only do nugget meals".
While waiting for our food to be prepared I witnessed the lady preparing pizza dough portions sneeze into her hand and continue to work without washing her hands.
The subs were chopped burgers on a wrap dripping in grease.
Upon complaining we were completely dismissed.
Safe to say I will never return!

05/05/2025: Had the fish and chips on recommendation for the local people large portion and cooked lovely all done fresh curry sauce was excellent but small size for price. Not much parking around shop.
16/01/2025: A traditional-style family-run business. Ashrad is so welcoming and so friendly. It's great to see all the family getting involved.
The pizzas are by far the best in town. :)
