31/01/2025: Avoid. We have been regular customers of Shangri La for years! The entire family have been loyal customers and regularly order at least once per month.
Called to request a refund for 2 items for the first time ever, as they were not the quality we are usually used to. The result was a denial of any form of refund or voucher for the food.
Super disappointed to be turned upon like this by a restaurant we used to love so much.
25/01/2025: Haven’t been here in years so thought I would give it another try hoping things had changed, boy was I disappointed. Ordered fried rice with my main but there was so much white pepper in it the rice was a grey colour and I couldn’t eat much of it. Also ordered spicy crispy chicken, there was no seasoning at all on the chicken it just tasted of frozen crispy chicken and most of it was tiny pieces of rock hard chicken and this too was covered in so much white pepper it really was disgusting. Three mains and a starter cost nearly fifty euros.

Money Tree Chinese

01/03/2025: On a weekend trip to Letterkenny, some friends and I ordered off the menu from this restaurant, much to my demise. Between five of us, we spent over sixty euro-worth of food to be delivered to a house not far from the location. I will say fair play for the delivery driver getting here much sooner than the estimated delivery time.
However, we began to unpack the delivery, and soon realised we were missing food - at least two meals. I phoned the restaurant to let them know of the error, hoping as it wasn’t long delivered that the driver may still be close and be able to drop off what was missed, possibly in the back of their car. The staff member who I spoke to told me that my food was on the way, I reassured her that the driver had already been but we were still missing some food.
I was then told all the food was definitely ordered and in the delivered cardboard receptacle. I had to reissue my point that the box was now empty and there were still meals missing from our inventory. The member of staff raised her voice over the phone, often repeating the words, “100% the food is there, I seen it with my own eyes.”
This first telephony conversation lasted around five minutes, and clear to both parties it was going no where. The member of staff at Money Tree then ended the call. Following this, there were three more phone calls to have similar conversations.
I am generally a glass-half-full-type of person and give everyone the benefit of the doubt, however I was at the end of my tether after my experience with Money Tree, and have never felt so gas-lit by a hospitality industry. As I told Money Tree, they will not be receiving my custom again.
