Anchor Inn
Crosshaven
14/08/2025: Food is always great in the Anchor especially their fresh fish. Not overpriced all home cooked with hand made chips/fries or jacket potato with veg or salad. Great pint of guiness and nice wines to chose from. Lovely wait staff headed by Carol

Cronin's
Crosshaven
31/07/2025: Called in here (to the cafe) to have something to eat - maybe cake and a coffee. We arrived bang on 12, breakfast menus were still on the table, we literally sat down 5 seconds and were asked do you know what you want. We barely had time to lift the menus off the table, let alone read it. So we asked the friendly waitress to give us a few minutes. She said if you’re ordering breakfast you better be quick. So we hurriedly decided. She took our order and went off. In the meantime we were trying to unattach ourselves from the sticky table. She then came back all apologetic saying the chefs refused to make it as it was past 12. Fine but why would you have your menus out on the table so? Lunch then didn’t start until 1230. We left and went across the road to a much more professional establishment. I’m sick of these halfassed places thinking they can charge through the nose and treat the customer as if they’re doing them a favour by serving them.
26/07/2025: Traditional pub. Awesome bartender. No food, but bartender is great with suggestions.

The Oar Bar
Crosshaven
15/08/2025: Food was awful, I ordered a medium steak and I was brought a well cooked steak instead, my partner ordered a prawn tagliatelle dish which had about 5 small prawns in it. Menu options were very limited.
I added a request to my booking saying it was my partners birthday, which was completely ignored, I wanted to surprise her with a little birthday desert or something similar.
Staff was great, very friendly, very accommodating, very understanding.
It was very loud inside the restaurant itself, very hard to talk to or hear the other person.
14/08/2025: The Oar Bar is an absolute gem in Cork. The location is simply amazing, with beautiful views right onto the port. The food was absolutely exquisite, every dish was a delight, clearly made with high-quality ingredients and a lot of care. The service was equally impressive; very attentive and welcoming without being overbearing. It's the perfect spot for a memorable meal with great scenery. I can't recommend it enough

Chish N Fips
Crosshaven
12/08/2025: We were told it closed at 10 pm. We rushed up and arrived there at 9.37 with our three children and ourselves after a nine hour sail.
They said they were closed and we pointed out that it was closed at 10 pm. They said the only thing they could give us was 2 single chips. I explained that we
we’re all very hungry, but they wouldn’t change their mind. Just wanted to get out of there..
So message to the owner if you are closed at 10 pm you serve till 10 pm please
24/07/2025: Quarter pounder with cheese was seriously lacking. A floury bun that didn't suit a burger as it fell apart from dryness. Burger meat was tasteless. No onions, unheard of in a burger, dash of ketchup and cheap slice of processed cheese. It was horrible. Chips were perfect. Battered Sausages were lovely but on the small size. Lovely staff.

Hong Kong Chef
Crosshaven
30/06/2025: Ordered a takeaway consisting king prawn and cashew nuts in oyster sauce and chicken chow mein. Lots of prawns in the dish but sadly all of it was utterly tasteless. Threw most of it away.
19/05/2025: I visited here as a family of 2 adults & 2 children . My bill was 75 euro. There were no starters included and the 2 adults drank tap water only, and one fizzy drink each for the kids. The price of the rice and chips is added on afterwards so if you don't see the line at the bottom of the menu stating that, they are not included ( which I didn't until we went to pay) the price of your meal goes up by 4 euro per meal. Both rice and chips are 4 euro each so it doesn't make sense not to include them as I don't know who orders a Chinese dish without rice, chips or noodles. So in my case the chicken curry went from being 16.90 to 20.90. This should be pointed out to the customer when they are ordering it's a very sneaky way of raising their bill! The kids chicken nuggets are 9.90. Again very pricey for a plate of chips and unappetising looking nuggets. I've gotten lovely quality chicken goujons on kids menus before for less than this price! When we arrived in the place was empty we were the only sitting customers so maybe this should have being a red flag when it was a beautiful Sunday evening at 7.pm and you'd imagine it would be a bit busier with people having a meal before they went home for the evening. On a positive note my chicken curry tasted nice. I won't be visiting here again and unfortunately I won't recommend this place to anyone.
