The best restaurants in Rathcoole

27/01/2025: Update January 2025 Cleanliness standards slipping. Love stopping here for lunch anytime in the area. On Saturday 25th January we stopped there as usual. I had no clue what the guy behind the food counter was saying to me. (His first language was english) He had to repeat himself three times, and I had to get someone else to interpret. What he was trying to tell me was that the salmon would be served cold! I knew that, but he made no effort to convey that ease piece of unnecessary information. The food was delicious though. The restaurant was very unkempt, tables full of previous diners trays etc. One table had 8 used coffee cups which had to be moved by the next customers, and eventually another customer asked one of the staff to help. Another table had a significant amount of food on the floor underneath. There is a generation of workers out there now who don't understand that when things get busy (regardless of the business) YOU WORK FASTER. I don't blame the staff at that level, I blame whoever is supposed to be training them. It's not good enough for the Avoca Brand - you charge enough for your products, and sitting in a messy, unclean environment should not be the customer experience. --------------------------------- Previous review 2019. Fantastic well stocked luxury goods shop with excellent self service cafe upstairs. A little expensive, but for me a nice treat when I'm leaving Dublin or arriving from Cork. Love the healthy range of lunches as well as everything else. Easily accessible from the M7 motorway

08/10/2024: Business is closed now. Which is unfortunate as I had a voucher for afternoon tea but it’s fine. irrelevant if google states if open or closed ur still selling voucher for a business that is closed and therefore unredeemable, it is the owners responsibility to inform living social and/or any other company that may be selling vouchers on behalf of the business that you are no longer active. Do you google every place of business you go to check if it is open or closed? Doubtful… a 1 star review is justified as to sell and voucher for something that is unredeemable is bad service. As I cannot comment on the food or atmosphere I will retract these stars, however my time spent going out to your business only to find it closed my time spend trying to get a refund(thus far unsuccessfully) is wasted and thus qualifies as poor service. I apologise if u find this review in poor taste.

30/07/2024: Great place, lovely atmosphere! The coffee and the banana bread were delicious! They also have delicious homemade sourdough breads. The service was good, too. My favourite part is the beautiful cups they serve tea and coffee in!

17/01/2025: Had breakfast, food was lovely arrived hot,and option of chips with your breakfast, coffee was freshly made, highly recommended and excellent value will return again

12/01/2025: This pub is an absolute dump- DO NOT GO HERE - our group of 7 waited nearly an hour for basic carvery dinner - had to ask three times when would we be served - food eventually arrived freezing cold - one of our group had to wait a further 5 minutes for their food - all the dinners were swimming in water and cold - staff and manager were rude and arrogant - we left and did not pay - would not recommend at all - take ur business to The Poitin much better.

15/02/2025: Great spot, if I'm unapologetically honest the spicebags were unreal years ago and I used to eat them at least once of twice a week. I moved away and when I came back they changed recipe price and portion size, its Still nice but it's less food for more money and it's not at tasty unfortunately
