The best restaurants in Portmarnock

13/03/2024: We arranged to have a nice Mother's day meal here with my parents and family. My sister made the booking and shared all the details. She was then contacted by the restaurant to ask to call into the restaurant to pay a deposit. She was unable to do so as she did not live in Dublin so I did, which I found a bit inconvenient as I have a newborn. On the day of the meal, none of the staff mentioned that the table needed to be cleared by 16.00 until it was 15.45, at which point we had only received our desserts and we were looking to order coffees and tea. The manager (who had come to take the coffee and tea order) told us in quite an abrupt way that we needed to be quick about the order as he needed the table back by 16.00, first time we were told this. We had enjoyed the meal up until this point as we felt that the manager's attitude was quite abrupt and could have been a bit more pleasant. I honestly felt we were short of being pushed out the door. We found the two other waiters on the day to be very nice and accommodating. The experience we had at the end of the meal left a bad taste. Unfortunately, as a local, I won't return to this restaurant.

28/02/2024: Enjoy coming here! Amazing flavor with high quality food. Staff are BRILLIANT, friendly, accommodating and so professional. Definitely dine here! Delicious. Highly recommend.

23/03/2024: Visited ODwyers today for some dinner and I was extremely dissatisfied. The issues started when it took almost 15 minutes for a server to come to the table and ask if we were ready to order or to even ask if we wanted drinks. Service throughout my entire visit was extremely slow considering the place was very empty. I ordered the Buffalo Tenders to start and they were very dry inside and very difficult to cut with a knife. Then I had the 8oz Ribeye. I was asked how I would like my steak cooked and I requested medium. When I cut into the steak I could see instantly that it was cooked well done and not medium as requested. The steak was also not very hot and was rather tasteless while the mashed potatoes tasted reheated as they were extremely hot when I took the first bite. The spicy wedges were the only part of the meal that I could say I enjoyed. Then it took almost 10 minutes before someone came near the table to clean and for us to request the bill. I will not be returning here

04/11/2023: Fantastic pizza with very friendly staff. The base is thin and crispy and the toppings are superb quality.

31/03/2024: This place gets a 5* because they provide good quality coffee and good croissants 🥐 at a reasonable price and the girls give good service. I am constantly on lookout for places like this that do coffee and croissants at a reasonable price to which I will return. Too many places in Ireland are ripping people off for coffee..... Not this one. Thanks. Peter
