The best restaurants in Athenry

28/10/2024: The worst Indian food I have ever had. We ordered a range of curries from chicken balti, chicken tikka balti, chana bhuna, lamb bhuna and tarka dhal. All of the curries were a bright orange colour, in a watery sweet sauce. They all tasted the same. The naan bread was stale and old. We called the restaurant to complain and they basically told us to deal with it and that they have never had a complaint after 20 years. That’s not what their Google reviews seem to say, it seems like everyone had the same experience as us. I don’t like leaving bad reviews but can’t believe the service we recieved after spending over €100. There is nothing authentic about this place. If you want old, stale, flavourless food which will get you unwell then this is the place to visit

27/10/2024: If you want authentic Indian food then please AVOID this restaurant. I ordered €100 worth & every single curry tasted sweet. The dry curries were runny and even the garlic bread tasted like a pancake. My father-in-law is a 55 years old Indian man who was born in India. When he called to make a complaint he was told ‘this is how we have made our food for the last 20 years and never had a complaint.’ No apologies, no offer to remake the food or a refund.

27/08/2024: It was Supermacs in Kiltullagh that I visited for coffee and burger Gabriel from Portugal very helpful and pleasant No complaints here

03/09/2024: Truly excellent and very abundant dishes, possibility to choose what they will be accompanied with (boiled or fried rice), something that doesn't exist in Italy. We had a really good time, the place was clean and well kept. The fast service (we had everything in half an hour) and the kind and friendly waiters. Also very convenient is the fact that it closes late, on a Saturday evening where all the kitchens of the other restaurants closed at 7.30pm, it was our salvation. If I lived in Athenry it would be one of my favorite restaurants.

24/09/2024: Ate here on 22nd September. Very quiet unassuming restaurant but the food was amazing. Well priced and friendly wait staff. Loved it!

10/09/2024: We gave this little pizzeria a try on our trip to Ireland and were not disappointed. The pasta was excellent and the prices were super fair. 08/11/2024: Great food. Always cooked brilliant and you can have the laugh with the staff. Very decent portions too.

08/11/2024: The lady at the till was very rude. I made a mistake with how much I gave her and she made it clear to everyone in the shop by yelling at me. And then when I gave her more than the amount she kept shouting that she needed exact coins over and over until I gave her the exact amount. Didn’t need this attitude after a long day of work. Plus no hairnets or ppe very poorly managed.
