03/12/2024: Overpriced, boring tourist trap- I was surprised that the “oldest pub in Connemara” can’t get kids chips right- they tasted like thawed out freezer fare. There’s an odious waitress who screeches nasty comments to the dour owner about customers she’s had a run in with, and is only plrasant to rich American tourists who may lrave an undeserved tip. They seem to feel like they own the scenery. Avoid and head
on to beautiful Cleggan. Good grub and less snooty entitled D4's there, too.
24/11/2024: oysters were back,. and. delicious grilled with breadcrumbs and garlic butter. I need more. A grey damp. off-season day, wonderful.
NOW back in. June 2024, excellent as ever, but prefer it off season. and returned 24Oct2024. Off season is best, and thankfully it stays open.

04/06/2024: Great pub atmosphere and excellent food and service. I had the fish and chips which was delicious, fresh, hot and a huge portion. A fun place.
