Scholars Townhouse Hotel
Drogheda
04/05/2026: The food is amazing.
The rooms are nice, but small.
The shower isn't great.
The hotel itself is really nice with loads of interesting features and a really nice terrace for drinks and lunch.
03/05/2026: Lovely friendly staff, great bar and smashing breakfast

Black Bull Inn
Drogheda
03/05/2026: The food here is very good.I have not been here in a long time but the standard of dishes is excellent . I had the feather blade of beef and it was the nicest I've had to date. The deserts are standard enough but lovely all the same.Staff are very friendly and efficient. It's a lovely spot for dining and watching live sports. We will be visiting more regularly.
19/04/2026: I live near the Black Bull and we probably visit it about once a year or so.
It's never been great.
I went on Saturday, 18/4/2026 at 6pm with my wife and 2 friends.
The prices had jumped up.
I ordered a €36 10 ounce Rib Eye steak and it was the worst steak I've had in my life in a restaurant.
I buy €8 Sirloin steaks in Lidl most weekends and cook better than whatever stand-in chef you had working that night. It was given a very thin and overcooked low quality steak.
The chips were nice... but the main event, the most important part of the meal was bad.
In hindsight, I think they gave me the cheaper 6 ounce Sirloin and overcooked it when I asked for medium.
Also charging €2 for at thimble sized pot of peppercorn sauce was robbery.
There were very limited starter options, in fact there was only a "small plates" option no individual starters.
I had asked for another glass of wine from a waitress but it never came.
As usual, every time I go to the Black Bull, there's quality, service and menu issues.
But messing up a €36 steak is bad.
I hear from others the owner is more concerned opening up some pizza bar and probably dropped the ball badly in the Black Bull. Not impressed...

Relish
Drogheda
24/05/2026: Great breakfast & delicious coffee. Quick service.
09/05/2026: Really disappointed. Booked a table for a girls brunch, no time limit stated on the phone at time of booking. As soon as we sat down we noticed it wasn’t overly busy, but our waitress told us the table was needed back within 1.5hrs. Keep in mind this was a brunch to say goodbye to a dear colleague with 4 people. The service we received was terrible, staff incredibly rude, clearly no proper training in etiquette, plates being cleared before others had finished eating, coffees served in plastic cups(while dining indoors!) The whole thing was uncomfortable then a waitress leaned over us and stated “my next booking will be coming, I need the table”, no manners, apology or offer to be seated outside while we were on our second round of drinks/ coffees- actively spending money. We left as requested and finished our coffees standing outside-awkward I know! Terrible customer service, will never return.

The Cross
Drogheda
Bebe y disfruta.
(Original)
Always a great spot for you music lovers. There's ample opportunity to socialise in a bustling yet comfortable setting and for those looking to hide away from chance encounters there's plenty of nooks and crannies to disappear into for the night. There's also the added bonus of being able to break away completely and venture upstairs to the chill out section clad with cinema seats for a unique experience. Drink up and enjoy.

Bia Cafe
Drogheda
10/03/2026: Myself and my partner have travelled 40 minutes on multiple occasions to bia after calling to confirm opening hours but when walking in the door 3 young girls tell us they have closed early
From a regular customer to bia management, this is extremely unprofessional as this is not the first time this has happened and 3 young girls that was representing your business were extremely rude - I will not be back when these staff members are working
The older woman working for yous is a credit to your business, always polite friendly and helpful
17/12/2025: This is a favourite of mine, excellent full Irish and great pancakes and stuff, wonderful seating area with natural lighting and a view of the town through the windows

Harry's Bistro
Drogheda
21/08/2025: First visited Harry's 9 months ago. Lunch on that day was brilliant, as was the service. We're back in Ireland once more and again, lunched at Harry's today. We were not disappointed. Once again, the service was second to none, the staff were friendly and very welcoming, and the food was sensational. We'll definitely be returning to Harry's when next in Ireland.
