16/11/2024: My wife and I had a magical weekend in Killeen house Hotel recently. We booked a two night stay and dined in their magnificent restaurant “ Rozzers” on both evenings. The hotel is located in an area of extraordinary natural beauty nestled high on the hills that look down onto the lakes of Killarney. On arrival our welcome was warm and genuine. Our room was beautifully appointed. Later we wandered towards the bar where we met more wonderful staff who were friendly and efficient . Afterwards, we were seated in a beautiful dining room fun of character and history. The quality of the food was exceptional. I had monkfish which was delicate and delicious and my wife had the steak which she said was cooked to perfection. Their selection of wines was also impressive as was the gentle jazz playing in the background. The service throughout the evening was delightful. Following a peaceful nights sleep we had one of the finest breakfast we have had in years. Freshly made breads to start and eggs Benedict to follow. We were seated in a bay window with a beautiful view out onto the gardens. This was one of the most reluctant departures we ever had from a hotel. We had a blissful two days and nights in a beautiful historic country house Hotel staffed with exceptional people and offering delicious local produce. We look forward to our next stay with you.
