01/12/2025: We recently used SuperValu Ballybunion for a hen party weekend, and the service was absolutely exceptional. They organised a full breakfast delivery for our group, which arrived fresh, on time, and made the morning so much easier for us.
They also facilitated the ordering of a beautiful cake for the celebrations — it was absolutely perfect and tasted amazing. A special mention must go to Denise, who was incredibly friendly, accommodating, and went above and beyond to make sure everything was perfect for us over the weekend.
Fantastic service all round — highly recommend SuperValu Ballybunion for anyone planning an event in the area!

28/09/2025: We had such a lovely experience at Namir restaurant! The fish and chips were beautifully fresh and full of flavor — honestly one of the best we’ve had in a long time. The atmosphere was warm and friendly, and the server lady was so kind and attentive, which made the visit even more enjoyable. What really stood out was the generosity and kindness of the owner, who went out of his way to make sure everything was perfect. A true hidden gem — we’ll definitely be back!
08/08/2025: The nicest fish and chips we’ve had! We were passing through Ballybunion on our Wild Atlantic Way road trip and stopped at Namirs. He was closed but turned on the fryers for us and made us the best fish we’d ever had! Tasty beer batter and lovely fresh cod. Such a nice man. Highly recommend!

09/10/2025: McMunns restaurant was our favourite restaurant on our Ireland trip! The food was sensational, could not fault it. The drinks, the service, everything was fantastic. There were 4 of us and we all thoroughly enjoyed our meals.
Would highly recommend to anyone visiting Ballybunion.

16/11/2025: I only went there to get a coffee which was good. The food and drink selection seemed really great, if i was hungry i would probably have got something too. The ladies toilet was not the best tho because i couldn't get the toilet paper out and the hand dryer wasn't working

18/11/2025: When I was there the owners barred me for absolutely no solid reason! The owner Fiona gave me the shocking news that I was barred! Some bar staff told the owner a lie that I was rude and I wasn't and the hotel never to this day apologize d for it! Then, a few years later I was thumbing a lift to Listowel when she once again rude towards me telling me she would stop this car and I'll get out! I ve no idea why I got in car in first place! This woman is downright rude and pins blame on everyone else, she never apologize s for being wrong! Before that happened it was a really nice hotel, delicious food but I'd advise you before you go into this hotel, rethink!

12/08/2025: Busy place with seating but food and service is slow. Although cheap you can find better quality elsewhere. Taco chip for e.g used totally plain mince and was almost putrid :(. Want something specific on your pizza? They had 4 tries and got all of them wrong. A shop with a brilliant location but poor organisation.

14/10/2025: The chips were good BUT the fish was the worst fish we had ever tasted!!! It was somehow already covered in batter ready to cook and the batters had become chewy and encased the fish which looked white with no shine or life and was tasteless. I would suggest cooking fresh fish from scratch in the usual manner, if not do not buy their fish.
07/09/2025: I visited here when I was last in Ballybunion. My mam and cousin were with me. We came about 19:00 for food after the beach. Waiting 30 minutes in the queue understandably because it was the evening time.

03/08/2025: We had a lovely dinner at The Lounge at Ballybunion and couldn’t have been happier with the experience. The menu had plenty of choice, with something to suit everyone. The food was delicious — hearty portions, fresh ingredients, beautifully cooked and very reasonably priced. The Guinness was also excellent.
The relaxed atmosphere made it easy to enjoy a proper sit-down meal without feeling rushed. It’s clear that this is a place where locals and visitors alike feel at home. Highly recommend The Lounge for a family-friendly meal in Ballybunion — we’ll definitely be back.
19/07/2025: Arrived for a meal. Hadn’t been here for a number of years and was looking forward to a relaxing meal overlooking the course.
When we arrived there were plenty of tables we would have liked but were told they wanted to keep us at one end of the restaurant and gave us a table directly under a TV which was far from relaxing. We moved to another table near but still amongst a crowd so did not get the relaxing experience we hoped for!!
