Lizzy's Little Kitchen
Listowel
17/01/2026: One of the best breakfast and lunch places in the area. The menu is excellent, service is great, and we had the best Chai Latte and Hot Chocolate we have ever had. It is a short list place for us - just so good and consistent!!
03/11/2025: Amazing food as always. Fabulous place. Waiting times for service can be a bit too long but it's only a minor negative!

Horseshoe Bar & Restaurant
Listowel
20/01/2026: Had my Uncle Malcoms wake here and cannot fault the service received. Food was delicious. Great atmosphere!
Clean toilet facilities. Friendly staff.
04/01/2026: This restaurant was a true surprise! I’m vegan my partner isn’t and we were visiting for the day. They have both a vegan and non-vegan menu! I was blown away with the selection from a burger to a vegan steak! They are also one of the few places that offer multiple plant-based desserts! The food was incredible, we both loved it and will be back. The staff were also so friendly and efficient. The atmosphere was lovely as well, there is a lot of history and a true Irish Gem! We felt really lucky to find this place and will be visiting again!

29/08/2025: Liene made us very welcome and did not rush us to order. A lovely and welcoming atmosphere with really comfortable chairs with high backs which I love.
Portions are very generous and the wine list is very affordable with a good selection.
This has become my "go to" place of choice to eat and relax in Listowel.

Listowel Arms Hotel
Listowel
14/12/2025: Lovely old fashioned hotel. Beautifully located. Excellent service.
29/10/2025: We had the most astonishing wedding at the Listowel Arms Hotel on the 2nd of August, and I genuinely couldn’t recommend it highly enough. From the moment we met Patrice, the wedding coordinator, we knew we were in safe hands. We first met her in the hotel itself, then again at a wedding fair in Dublin, where her warmth and professionalism really stood out. The team were so kind, gave us every bit of information we needed, and from that moment, everything just felt effortless.
Patrice and her team handled every detail of our wedding from start to finish. They took over the planning and coordination so smoothly that we could truly relax and enjoy the build-up. Nothing was ever too much trouble, and everything ran seamlessly on the day.
We travelled down from Dublin with 150 guests, and both the hotel and the town of Listowel embraced us completely. The town had everything our guests needed… from cafés and restaurants to lively pubs like John B. Keane’s, where we gathered the night before the wedding for an unforgettable evening.
Our ceremony took place across the road at St. John’s Theatre, and when we had specific requests about decorations and seating, Patrice went above and beyond to make it perfect. She personally dressed the venue, creating the most intimate and beautiful setting imaginable.
The ballroom was set up beautifully by the staff, elegant, welcoming, and full of atmosphere. You’d be amazed how many people it can comfortably cater for. What’s so special about the Listowel Arms is that you truly get to use the entire hotel… the ballroom, the bar, the front terrace, and the back patio overlooking the river and racecourse. Guests could drift between spaces, and it created a warm, social flow that made the day feel natural and alive.
And the food… outstanding. The fillet steak was enormous and perfectly cooked, the butternut squash soup, the chicken vol au vant and pork belly were outrageously tasty. We received amazing feedback from our guests, that the food was incredible and generous. We were also given real flexibility with the menu… multiple options per course, tailored exactly to our preferences. The wine was lovely, and drinks were very reasonably priced.
One of the hotel’s biggest charms is its rooms…each one is unique, full of character and individuality. It’s a family-run hotel, and that warmth shines through in every detail. The staff take genuine care to ensure every guest feels looked after, and that personal touch makes all the difference.
While the hotel comfortably accommodated an a lot of our guests, there’s also plenty of additional accommodation throughout the town, all within walking distance… so for bigger weddings, there is capacity for everyone. The hotel will happily share local suggestions.
The next morning, we enjoyed a fantastic Irish breakfast, and even for our second day, the hotel were well able to look after everyone’s lunch before we continued our celebrations in McCarthy’s, Finuge. The hotel were still as accommodating as ever when we returned late, for those who mean no end to their evening.
Listowel is only 15 minutes from Ballybunion Beach, a great beach for a swim, and Ballybunion Golf Club… one of the best courses in the world. Many golfers stay in larger towns thinking Ballybunion doesn’t have high-quality accommodation nearby, but the Listowel Arms is a great base.
In terms of value for money, nowhere else compared. We’d visited venues all across Ireland, but none had the warmth, intimacy, or genuine hospitality we found here. What’s so special about the Listowel Arms is how the team make you feel. They manage to look after you with incredible attention while still extending their trademark Kerry welcome to other guests… a true reflection of their experience.
If you want a wedding full of charm, heart, and character… and don’t want to get lost in the commerciality of hotels… this is your venue!
To Patrice and the entire team at the Listowel Arms Hotel, thank you from the bottom of our hearts for giving us the most magical wedding weekend imaginable!

Fusion Cafe
Listowel
21/08/2025: Been in Ireland 7 years and eaten at all the Indian restaurants in Dublin and nothing comes close to Amaya Fusion. The flavours were authentic, it honestly felt like a trip back home. Every single dish from starters to desserts was spot on.
Anjali who served us was absolutely lovely. :)
20/08/2025: Such a beautiful restaurant with adorable amazing interior. Lovely and pleasant staff. My best experience with Indian food. I would like to recommend if you really want to enjoy the ambience as well as food with lovely staff.

Lynch's
Listowel
11/11/2025: You know you’re in the country when youngsters in their blinged out tractors, adoring partners riding high on fenders inside the cab roar up and down the Main Street. Others in Japanese ‘sports’ cars emptying their waste gates (turbos ?) at every opportunity, resembling something like an airplanes toilet. Gotta love it !
In need of a quick tasty bite I positioned myself on one of the outdoor tables to watch life pass by.
Settling on the choice of a toasted bagel with bacon and cream cheese and a pot of tea, what was served didn’t meet my expectation.
A bagel more baked than warmed, bacon dripping in oil with a thick unappetising grind, a jar of accompanying cream cheese leaving one to make their own, no butter leaving a somewhat, uneatable dry item. Tea served without milk or a tea spoon or sugar.
Keep in mind folks it’s never bad service. It’s always bad training or lack of.
I don’t enjoy roasting an eatery (pun intended) but come on lads. This is 101 stuff.
It’s a lovely location, nice decor and I would return to give it a second chance but left on this occasion wishing I hadn’t paid and looking for a nearby petrol station for a chicken wrap.
05/11/2025: We had lunch there yesterday, it was fab. All the staff were lovely and the soup and sandwich were perfect.

Mr Kebab & Grill Listowel
Listowel
27/10/2025: Stopped for the first time for a chicken kebab with salad on freshly made naan bread, great value and tasty. The chicken had a lovely hint of spices and there was plenty of chicken and salad. We had freshly cut chips with this and we were impressed. The facade of the shop is humble but the food was top notch!
18/09/2025: Delicious food!! Would highly recommend. The owner is also very kind ☺️
