24/05/2025: I don't write reviews, but on this occasion can I thank the staff and kitchen team for the service and quality of food we received at a family function yesterday afternoon. It was excellent, from the starter to the dessert , and the entire group were of the same opinion. Well done everyone.
17/05/2025: Stayed in one of their beautiful rooms. Comfortable bed, good pillows, good shower and friendly staff.

13/04/2025: The food here is honestly really good and definitely worth trying. Unfortunately, the service completely ruined the experience. We waited an unreasonably long time just to have someone come over and take our order, and only after we flagged someone down ourselves. The staff didn’t seem interested in being there at all, the waitress looked annoyed and unapproachable the entire time. It felt like we were bothering them just by showing up. It’s a shame, because the kitchen clearly knows what they’re doing, but the service needs improvement. I’m not sure the food alone is worth dealing with that kind of treatment

23/04/2025: Ordered on their new app and had to pay cash delivery at the door.. have no problem paying but I don’t carry cash so not sure why the restaurant doesn’t include delivery charges like every other takeaway service before delivery?? Will be ordering elsewhere in future because this inconvenience..
10/02/2025: Ordered food 2 weeks ago it was gorgeous. Went ago the following week and feel like it was a different chef. Food was rotten. Wont be let down again. No consistency.

13/05/2025: We had a super evening at The Royal Garden. It was a sunny Tuesday so it was not busy. The food was top notch and was matched by the service. Thank you Royal Garden, Athy!

24/04/2025: Currently eating a pizza. It has chicken, peppers, onions, sweetcorn and mixed herbs. I am so happy eating this. It is perfect. I will call in personally to tell you all. Chips are also delicious. Never stop.
09/02/2025: A No for me. Food here is not good. Ordered a doner kebab tray and it wasn’t a bit nice. Food here is tasteless. Just pretty bang average any time I’ve got food from here. The sauce he puts on is just horrible altogether.

19/04/2025: I had a very disappointing experience with the Peony Inn today. I placed an order online for delivery, and the website charged me €2.50 for delivery. Shortly after, I received a call from a staff member (Irish woman) who was extremely rude. She told me there's "no way" it would cost that little to deliver and demanded an extra €10 to be paid in cash or via Revolut. When I explained that I was simply charged what the online system showed, she insisted I should have known better because I had ordered before. For the record, my previous order was for collection, not delivery.
Mistakes can happen, but the way I was spoken to was completely unacceptable and reflects poorly on the business. I ended up cancelling the order because I wasn't comfortable proceeding after how I was spoken to. It’s unfortunate because I used to enjoy ordering from here, but I won’t be returning after this experience.
08/02/2025: Absolute scum bags. Took money off us but no food arrived and they won’t answer the phone. They will answer the door tomoro … not by choice
