The best restaurants in Athy

18/07/2026: Asked for chicken fillet burger meal, square cod and children’s nugget meal poor quality isn’t the word fish was like a brick handful of chips children’s meal was fine but how hard is it to make chicken nuggets avoid like the plague. Returned for a full refund which I got only thing that was positive about it. See photos attached

13/05/2026: Number of recent incidents including last night listening to customers sitting at the bar roaring homophobic, racist and sexist slurs whilst the barmaid giggled along with them. Absolutely disgusting behaviour. Do better.

10/04/2026: For the B&B they manage above the pub, I could not find a spot to write the google review so writing it here. I left one on booking.com anyway but its important to leave one here too - The carpets were not clean, red wine stains on it (or blood, who knows). The wifi did not work. The TV did not work. For lighting the room only has one option, the ceiling lights and they were really very bright. There was no dustbin in the room. The blinds were not blackout, lights would seep through from the street. The pillows on the bed didn't look clean, pillow covers, thankfully there was another set of pillows in the cupboard that looked fresh (pillow covers too). Lastly, the noise from the pub/bar downstairs at night does not help at all. Got really loud till about 1-2 am on a Saturday night. Lastly, it was very very expensive for what was offered, very poor quality stuff.

16/08/2026: Went in with no booking and was looked after. Staff were really friendly and looked after us. Food was gorgeous and couldn't fault the place, cozy and tasty

04/09/2026: Di Nardi's is the good place to get a bag chips, but I have not been in it for ages, the only gave a bag of only half cooked chips. Who was cooking the chips need to get changed how to cook.

17/07/2026: Fast, friendly service, The food one of the best I've had from a Takeaway and as ii travel abit for a living I tend to get takeaway occasionally, Di Nardis will be my go to if I'm anywhere near Athy and I'm from cork

22/08/2026: This is the second review I’m leaving after eating the food. The chips were some to the worst I have ever had. Not cooked enough such that it’s like biting into semi cooked potatoes. The battered sausage was crispy however it tasted of lamb so I was not sure if the meat was gone stale or if they were selling battered sausages using lamb meat. Defiantly the worst chipper experience I have ever had in Ireland and I hope they can improve, because currently it is easily one of the worst chippers in Ireland.
