The best restaurants in Longford

20/11/2024: Nice, cozy little spot I stopped into between job interviews. Matti (hopefully spelled that right) was very hospitable and friendly, had a good long chat with him, and he makes an excellent latte. Tasty cheese toasties and cake too. 👍🏽

05/11/2024: I tried the Turkish coffee and the NusNus and both were very good. The man behind the till is very friendly and is very talkative and will treat anyone like family. The baked goods are very good and well made. In my opinion one of the best coffee places in Longford. The prices are very good and the coffee is great. I highly recommend this place and everything they sell 10/10

03/12/2024: I don't even know where to start with this, I was in your store today and I witnessed what can only be described as Bullying by a senior female member of staff/management on a young female member of your staff she told the young girl come with me NOW in a real unprofessional manner to the exit at the side of the building by the toilets. I had walked outside and was waiting by the door. The way the senior female member spoke to her was horrible, I over her the senior member saying you walk around talking your own language we don't do that here. The poor girl stated to cry it was utterly shameful behaviour and a man who was in the toilet also came out and said the same that poor girl is only 17 and is probably only building up her self confidence. I wouldn't be surprised if the girl took litigation. I have contacted you head office in Galway and to HR and will be following up with an email. Shameful Carry on I won't be back.

25/11/2024: Just had the Festive 5oz Burger and it was fantastic. Needs to be on the menu all all year round

27/10/2024: Stopped here on route home from Dublin. Faultless. Great food and such lovely friendly service. 2 adults and 2 kids. All delighted and full afterwards. We had a real mix of food. It was gorgeous. Big portions. We will definitely be making the detour through Longford again.

05/11/2024: Prices are too high. It's better to go somewhere else, because you can eat cheaper and even tastier.There were free tables, but I had to wait at the entrance to long, until the waiter seated us. Besides, the place is nice.

27/11/2024: I was on a trip to Longford, Ireland with my girlfriend and the Market Bar holds a very special spot for me in my life. We stopped in to possibly grab a drink, but the bar area was full. So we popped around to the restaurant side and I asked the woman bartender/server if we could sit and order two drinks. She obliged, but I felt like she was annoyed by my questioning... When we sat down, we decided that we wanted to get chips as well. The other woman server gave us some cutlery and also seemed like she had a long day and was annoyed overall by our presence. There was another patron sitting near us and she checked on him multiple times, with no attempt to even acknowledge us. She even came to take one of our stools at our table with no regard for us. The service that was provided was very cold throughout... though the chips and Guinness were delicious. It was a shame that we were made to feel like a nuisance. There was a gentleman that brought our food out, and he was much more warm and inviting, he even smiled at us. (Please note: I have travelled to Longford and Ireland as a whole many times before and I am well aware of how table service works in Ireland and how it may differ from the US. This experience was out of the norm, I am sure. I just hope that you realize that a smile goes along way.)

02/09/2024: Called in for breakfast. Warm & welcoming host. Delighted as they had a gluten free section on menu. Very tasty & gluten free soda bread to die for. Gf potato waffle also. Very filling

29/09/2024: Food is great. But the service has gone very poor. Older Lady serving our table was very cold towards us , seemed like she didn’t want to be around and kept asking were we finished our food. It was pretty cold in there too. Also not properly communicated that you can’t split the bill. Which in this day and age is awfully inconvenient when cash isn’t carried by everyone. Wasn’t said when booking the table, nor is it said when ordering or on the menu. There’s a very missable sign on the glass when you go to pay which you certainly wouldn’t see when walking in to your seat.

16/12/2024: I was more disappointed by the attitude of the staff than the food itself. I have never in my life waited longer for food than here and place was not even half full, my daughter had to wait 50 min to get her kids pasta which is just ridiculous and Dear waitress if you talk about customer behind the back, make sure at least we don’t notice, that was unprofessional and uncomfortable. The owner made an effort to correct my well-done steak, which I had ordered rare, but when I received the new steak, it was medium-well done, not rare as requested. After he insisted I say if I was happy, I was honest, and he became rude, suggesting I wanted a "blue" steak. Proper steak preparation seems to be an issue, and perhaps some staff training is needed. Overall, the food did not meet expectations, and the rude, dismissive behavior from the staff left a lasting negative impression. Do not recommend at all.

28/11/2024: I was in about 2 weeks ago now on a Saturday. I cannot stop thinking about the stellar service I received from a young man, Josh. I am not a big drinker so he talked me through their extensive drinks menu. I eventually settled on their house Pinot Grigio. Value focused and full of flavour. He truly is a great addition to the team. Bravo Josh👏👏👏👏
