25/01/2026: This place is a hidden gem. From we arrived Ann was nothing but amazing. She provided us with lots of local information, was so attentive and made us feel at home. The room was clean and the bed was so comfortable. We can't wait to come back again later in the year. The Guinness is also unbelievable in the bar and it was accompanied with a lovely open fire
25/01/2026: Stayed 1 night on our trip to Achill. Room was perfect. Sea view was incredible. Bed was super comfortable and Ann is just the best host/manager. So friendly, welcoming and just an all round lovely person. The pub underneath is cosy and very reasonably priced. We really enjoyed our short stay and will make sure we return in the spring/summer, hopefully for a longer stay.

06/03/2026: Done two nights on what I was told was a pay trial but was never paid as a night porter no one will answer a phone or email it’s brutal
22/02/2026: ….an update review.Stayed here again a yr or so later.Cannot fault it at all.Joanne(I think.Gave us an upgrade to the Lennon suite) on the front desk is amazing.6 star service from her,Id actually feel guilty if i didn't return just because how professional she is .The hotel is just one of those places that you feel comfortable in but appreciated as well…… The walk behind the hotel on the western way is fab. Stayed for 2 nights recently.
Really enjoyed the stay.
Room was fine and clean.Big modern bathroom.
Breakfast was good and the the attention from staff was great.From the service in the bar to the lady who ran out of reception to open the door that leads to the lift.
You can see they are making an effort to keep guests happy.
It’s only a 20 min drive to Achill and we spent 2 days out there.
We didn’t eat in the hotel but did try the local pub which was good.
The pub charged €10 for a pint of Guinness and a vodka and 7 up👏👏👏👏
The Dublin barman was chatty.
But back to the hotel.We will definitely return.
They have deals mid week so its worth ringing them direct

The Waterfront Bar & Bistro

18/06/2024: We decided to dine here in the last night of our stay in Mulranny and were extremely disappointed in the experience.
Yes, it was busy as it was Father’s Day, but we had eaten elsewhere earlier in the day - more busy - and there was flawless service.
When seated we waited 20 minutes for a drinks order ti be taken, my wife’s starter of prawns was presented in a bowl of bread cubes filled with oil, a team member came to clear the table before starters were finished and insisted on clearing my plate (I was finished), the mains arrived and we waited another 10 minutes for cutlery after requesting them, the chicken fillet burger was dry and tough, the beef burger was well over seasoned with salt - neither mains were half finished. At that point we had had enough and asked for the bill- another half hour wait with no acknowledgment and no bill. Money left on the table and we left - extremely disappointing and wouldn’t recommend.

21/05/2024: It's 2024 and the waterfront bar has had a bit of a face lift. It's definitely worth the visit. The style has gone more old school, wifey says it has a lodge style. I am not so sure, but I can see the antiquated style and think they may be onto a winner.
We just ordered a club sandwich to try out the menu here. And honestly I was impressed, it was filling, beautifully presented and very tasty.
The only qualms I have with the club sandwich was it is 14 euros and a side is 4 euros extra. A little expensive. While the price point is just a little high. The extra is not reasonable price if you order the salad. My side salad cost the same as soup or chips, and to be honest it's not really justifiable that price. But the chips were lovely.
On a fantastic day sitting outside is the place to be. The view is just something else. I recommend this place for a drink and a meal. They have the quality, taste and location. Well worth a visit.
